Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Htb2 Installed!

Hey I just got my new htb2 12cm housing on! I have a lot more top end. The only thin is im only getting 35psi with the stock turbo I would get 25psi with the tst off and 35psi with it on 9. its really weird. i get 30 with the TST off, 35 with the chip on 6. 1250' egt, 35 1400' with the chip on 9. do i need to do something to the wastgate? oh yea i got the modified 12cm housing! its kinda laggy on the get go but once she spools it defiantly got more top end :-laf I think I read the the waist gates come set at 42psi. Anyone ells have problems like this? Any ways im happy with it!

Sounds like your wastegate is set at 35psi. Can't help you with adjusting it though, I never played with mine.

I went through this with my HTBG. First I had the 14cm but soon changed to the 12cm and like it much better. Either way, with my Comp on 5x5 the most boost I could hit was 36. I talked with HTT and the agreed the turbo was most effecient around 40psi. What I did was undo the actuator rod on the waste gate(right next to the oil drain line) and turn it in(clockwise) 3 turns. Tonight on the way home with the Comp on 5x5 I hit 1255* EGT and 39. 1 psi boost. Felt much better!! They say the come set at 40psi, but maybe it starts to open a little sooner... . progressive-like. You may want to call them first, but I believe that is what they will tell you. Also, may sure that rod isn't rubbing up against the oil line; I had to dent the line and grind a little off the rod so they wouldn't rub.

so how do you guys like this turbo so far??I am thinking about going with a turbo from them and there 3piece manifold??

i got my problem figured out. i love this thin. truck pulls so much harder in the top end in i can berly hit 1300 any more plus shes making 47lbs of boost though im ganna get it set right around 40 and see it that lowers my egts a bit more... oh yea my clutch went and died... POS... time for a dualdisc :-laf.
