I was very disappointed about the deal with mine. The first one had the coating come off within the first couple of months and when it cracked apart it had less than 30k on it. I had a distinct exhaust tick for a while before that and we could not find it until the crack showed itself underneath. One of the things that really upset me was it never had a heavy charger hanging on it at all as the turbo on it at the time was a Garrett GT37R Stage 3 which is not very big nor heavy. So it was not like it had a S400 on it with no support at all.

The new one has been on for a few months now and once again their coating has disappeared and rust is showing all over it. At first I wondered if it was due to a poor coating finish but now I am wondering if its a deal where the metal used to cast the pieces is questionable. IF a coating is applied properly then one would figure that it would not rust so quickly however if the material that the coating is applied to is not properly prepped or is questionable, coatings will not hold and will fail quickly.

I am going to search for a stainless manifold for mine as I spend alot of time all Summer long at shows with my hood up. One would have thought that ATS would have realized many of us do show our trucks and their product is on display at many of them because of this. I would not recommend them to anyone I know or anyone who asks about the product. Their poor customer service and product is enough for me alone to stay clear of them... ... . Andy

I ordered a 2 pc From ATS. When I went to install, the holes didn't

line up. When I called them, machine said to leave msg and someone

would call back. Nobody ever did. My truck is torn apart. I call them

2 days later, tell them of problem. After talking to whoever boxed

manifold I was told they know they sent right one, something must

be wrong with my truck. later in the day when I wasn't home

they called back and asked to take drawing of foot and fax it.

They had sent a big foot manifold. I had to pay $65 more for second

day, as they would only pay for ground. 5 days. I was told they

would send label to ship the other back. Never did. Instead they billed

for second one. I called American Express and they went after them.

Four months later got a call from ATS, asking how could we resolve

this. Simple, send label as I will not pay to ship back. A week later

I received a label to ship. I will never do business with them again.

I sent a copy of my reciept to HTT today. Here is what they had to say. [I left all names out of it. ]

"!@###%$$%%%% has never been a direct dealer of ours so therefore we have never sold them one of our manifolds direct, so for any warranty to be considered warranty needs to go through them as the seller and then through whoever they obtained it from. We can only warranty parts to the original parts purcheser not 2nd or 3rd party. "

I'm glad I read this thread, I will not spend my money for a trans or any part at HTT or ATS, thanks for the heads up.

This isn't the first time HTT got me. I had a 62/65/12 turbo on a 3rd gen truck [recommended by HTT for my application]. The bearings went out after only 10k miles. I called HTT & they said around $500 for a rebuild. I sent it to them & they called me up saying my exhaust housing was warped & it was gonna be $900 for parts/labor + shipping. That is the price of a new turbo after I paid shipping!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is another. I made a deal to trade a guy turbos. I had a HTT 62/71/14 which needed rebuilt after only 15k miles. I called them up ... once again $500. I knew what was going to happen so I called II to get a quote. II said $300 for complete rebuild. I sent the turbo out & never got a "this will cost extra call".

When I talked to the guy at HTT, I explained to him that I had a brand new 3rd gen compressor housing which I needed to exchange for 2nd gen housing. I bought this housing from HTT 32 days before making the call. They said "We have a policy, can't exchange products after 30 days". Are you joking? Nope

I called II back & asked them if I could exchange the housing & they said "send it in, no problem. " That my friend is customer service. :D This is why I am taking my business to II.

"You are absolutely right that does suck. You would think that a company like HTT would stand behind their product regardless if you have a receipt from one of their vendors or not. They should stand behind it end of story . . . . I know I would just to make a customer happy. I guess I wont be buying anything from them. "

Me either,

BE ADVISED - HTT I came here first after my stocker cracked and I guess I will be going back to a used stocker. Good luck selling your junk

Go buy a new one from a recognized "official" dealer and then send your old one back in like 30 days for a refund, or are they serial numbered?

Their crappy warranty has never worked in my favor. Doing what you suggested would only leave me with another product which they won't stand behind. I gaurantee they would find a reason to not warranty it as always.

Well, there goes the 2 that I was thinking about getting, whats left besides BD for one of these. Is there anybody else, or should I just stick with my stock one till it breaks, and replace with stock?

After reading this I am coming to the conclusion that customer service has passed away, precceded in passing by its father common sense.

Well if you can afford it, you could always get one of these that Briman suggested--
Here is a link to some better pics and price...

03-07 24v Cummins Diesel Turbo-Diesel (Polished) Exhaust Manifold

I sure wish that I could afford it... sure is pretty and the fabricators are SERIOUS racers.

after 3. 5 years my ats has been fine so far, the coating lasted maybe 2 years and now its totally gone but the manifold is not as rusty as the stocker, but it had 300+k miles

PDI manifold has gotten great feedback.

From what I have heard, the BD manifolds are not having any issues, but then, I have not read all the posts in reference to their manifolds. That stainless manifold is really a nice looking piece, it has excellent reviews, a $100 bucks more than the others, well worth considering paying the difference.

I myself was thinking about changing out the stock manifold, the BD ws the one I was thinking about, now . . may go with the stainless one as it is truly nice.

Yeah. . if it is only $100 more, I think that it is well worth it... custom, high end fabrication by professional racers who know what they are doing seems more then reasonable for $100 extra.

Do you know what there warranty is... also it would be nice to find out how long/many miles they have had one in operation.

PS--I was too busy looking at the pretty pictures, where did you read the reviews?? TIA

AFE has a stainless steel manifold in the works for the 3rd gens. It may have been released I haven't checked lately.

Well, I spoke with Fabshop today, they say thier mainfold is a direct boltup. They make some awesome stuff for tractors, I have seen their work first hand on them.

SO, I pulled the trigger and hit the BUY button. I'll have it mid week next week.
