Hey, was just looking at High Tech's site tonight and saw a total new line of turbo's from them... look pretty good!!!! I am happy with my Sled Puller 66 but am wondering what these would be like!!!!!

Check them out!!!!!

High Tech Turbo is proud to announce the new High Tech Series. Our unique partnership with Borg Warner Turbo Systems prompts the evolution of our product line for 1991-2006 Dodge Cummins engines (adaptable to 1988-90 also). Along with Borg Warner’s race proven large shaft and our High Tech bearing system these turbos combine the many improvements we have made since the inception of the HTB2 turbo line:

Improved oil drain tube clearance.

Our twin-ported wastegate now provides up to 50% more wastegate flow. This results in better boost control for single turbo applications as well as twin setups.

Our adjustable boost pressure regulators utilize higher spring rates supporting higher pressures.

These actuators employ our new "Easy-Adjust" feature.

Borg Warner Low Drive Pressure turbine wheels. AKA, the “Killer Wheel”.

Factory 1-Year warranty.

Like our HTB2 turbos, this series uses high torque, extended tip compressors = 57mm/87, 62mm/87, 64mm/92, 66mm/96. (Alternate compressor sizes are for comparison to Garrett Powermax advertised compressor sizing. )

I got mine 3 weeks ago! Sent in my HTB2 to be converted into a SP66-LDP (low drive pressure turbine wheel) This thing pulls like a set of twins. I'm wastegated at 45 but it can take more. My 2000 rpm drone is gone, but I also added an ATS manifold, anyway the drone is gone and this turbo doesn't have that high pitch scream anymore its real throaty. At idle listening back at the tailpipe you can hear that turbo fluttering sound like 2nd gens with big exhaust. Last dyno run I put down 507hp 938, I need to get it redynoed with the new turbo but it should only be about 15-20 more hp. EGT's stay below 1000 even pulling a big hill, when this turbo lights its unbelievable!

I called and put my name on the list for one of the first "special" exhaust housings... And then I can upgrade to the LDP wheel.

I am looking forward to it, woo-hoo!!!

They are saying this LDP wheel is AKA the Killer Wheel? Didn't they have a Killer B turbo? Is it the same wheel that was available before?

correct, the "killer wheel" - totally new they told me.

I have no proof, but maybe this is in responce to the 66m Silver Bullet?

Not in works for the Silver bullet, more along the lines of a SPS 66. Where the single market appears to be going is for the charger to be driven harder. Picture having a 2 inch fan hanging out the window and the other side having a 12 inch fan. Which one would produce more driving force and allow it to breath better on top. Well that is the idea behind the LDP wheel. I have a SB and it will not spool as fast as the sled puller I had on the truck if you are trying to build boost in low range, but once you get about 10 lbs of boost it is gone!!! I hit drive the other night at the track. I am running 3. 54. It was pathetic lauch. I could only build 8 lbs of boost. It was 90+ and about 90% humidity.

They sound like the super series turbo's from Industrial Injection... I know my Super 62 has the twin ported waste gate and lage shaft bla, bla. Old news...

is this just an up-dated wheel?

i guess the whole Turbo would have to be sent back to HTT for balancing ?

i would like something to move a little more air due to the 6's

Scott

Hmmm, I guess we should be flattered! Have not seen one up close. But those that have seen one have said they look damn close to ours. We'll see! I guess the who copied whom issue is now a dead topic. By the way we have been doing the larger wastegate ports for a long time. It was necessary for our Super Phat Shaft 62/80 to keep the turbine speed under control. Thanks

Well you guys are the originator's. You have to give credit where credit is due. I mean dual ported waste gates, huge shaft, heavy duty bearings, great service and friendly people... The super series as been out for awhile now and put pressure on these guy's to come out with this so called new series turbo's... (LOL)

prett sure i saw the exact same thing happen to II from HTT when they first came out with the phat shafts. maybe the world does go round and round after all.
