Axle dudes - Will rims that fit a 93 axle also fit a 2001 axle?

Reason I ask: I'm using an '01 rear Dana 80 dually axle and a '79 Dana 60 dually front. I'm 99. 9% sure each uses the 5/8 lugs... but I hadn't thought about each centers the wheels.

I'm hoping my Eagle Alloy wheels will work with both. My Eagle's use the lug shank to center the rims, but with the '01 Dana 80 I think those use the hubs to center the wheel, which will make the lugs just an additional centering method (IOW, the hub and lugs will both contribute to center the rear wheels).

Anyone 'been there and done this' before?

93 rims

I don't think the hubs (actually the drums) on the later models have accomodation for the coined protrusion of the lug centric wheels. You can go the other way. I have used some later model wheels on my 93 but I had to ream out the lug size. Could you put a countersink in the drum to allow the lug centric wheels to fit? Not sure about how the lug size would fit into this.
