What benefit does the SS housing provide other than looking killer? Does it have a better surface finish internally, promoting better flow? SS anything costs more than non-stainless, so for the extra $$ there should be a measurable benefit. My engine bay isn't so pretty now, so I am not too concerned about the looks.
If the performance diff is worth it, though... .

Stainless housings are supposed to hold the heat inside better which aids in spoolup. Cast iron disipates and loses some heat through the housing.
