Competition need better 1/4 time!

Scott,

Looks like its time for you to get into the promotion business. I am sure you would do well at it.

I agree, sounds like we all need to come together somehow and put on our own event since this isn't going to work with most of the central Cali pull promoters.

What a crock of s... !#@$%!

We do need to come together and that's what the DPO was suposed to do organize us as a group.

Just to clear things up there are only two organizations right now that I would suggest we don't pull with, that would be John Shipman Motor Sports and PTPA. I have no beef with VTPA at least they are showing signs of wanting to work with us as they have two classes now. The thing is guy's the promoters don't want to govern us, they want us to be self governing I. E. we have to show we can get a minimum of at least 5 trucks to each event, we have to run our teck at the scales etc... . they don't have the folks to run that portion. If we can show the VTPA folks that we can get a minimum of 5 trucks, (which in my opinion should be very easy as there are already 20 trucks showing up to there events) for the remainder of the year, I am sure we could come to an agreement with them that would allow us to have DHRA type ruling.

How many guys would be intrested in going to Waterford to show the VTPA that we mean bussines ? I am considering it even though they don't have a class for me I would be more then willing to pull exhibition.

Well I'm in also, it's been tough on me for two + yrs to be as active as I would like to be--first to be at the pulls and 2nd to try and keep things going forward and third to get my truck to be where it needs to be performance wise---

the way I see it is:

every event that MLM is involved with where we're allowed to pull will be for points and then we should maybe toss in Sonora if L&L is indeed involved like it's says on their schedule and then some select L&L events and maybe an odd event or two if we can agree to that schedule wise... .

what we do for payouts or whatever we really need to discuss further due to the amount of members---options are everyone chips in some $$ at each pull and divide it up as voted on for each evernt or everyone chips in extra at each pull and then it's awarded at the end of the year---

we need more members---my fault as I just haven't made any pulls really the last two years---I'm trying to get my crap together, but again, parts that come available and I order right away don't come when I expect them to arrive---may have to drop down a class, although I hate to on one hand and it may be impossible due to the truck's weight and I would need to do some removal of stuff , but again this is a major pain due to my business--but I'll see... .

the VTPA although they've treated us better and better each year it's still not right--I know Brandon is talking to them tonight, but don't expect great changes--they don't need us and they most likely will kind of see what happens this year before they do anything really for us and something else to think about is L&L left the VTPA for some reason--- I believe it was due to how they were treated... ... .

I need to adjust the rules also since we agreed to lower the weight in all classes except the mod class if I recall right---

anything anyone else wants to add let me know... . chris

self sufficient, working on the work force, hooking unhooking, tech, all around helping, just like the ss guys and I have to do at a pull, there is a lot to organize a pull and manage a pull it takes people. If you get a class you have to run it yourself run your own class, we cannot run it for you. To organize your own pull is ludicrous, it takes more work than I ever imagined, because I did it last year and this year, hookin all day for tons of tractors and truck, scraper etc... ..... the list goes on and on...

BOTTOM LINE if you want the 3 classes they will prolly give them to you if you can show how much you can commit to the sport and to helping the pull run smooth and self govern yourselves. It would only be a benefit to yourselves and the sport

I spoke with mlm about the crossing of points between the 2 associations and he says that if the group self governs itself it would be excelent in his opinion.

That being said every one that wants this to happen should shut up and quit crying the blues, stand up and act now. If you do not then we are in the same boat we were in 6 years ago when I tried to organize classes for vtpa. It was offered to me free and clear "Brandon if you can get 5 guys to commit to the class and help run it for themselves and the non member locals, it is yours for the taking" that was 6 years ago and imho the pullers have fell short on the bargain. So its now your chance to do it for a second time will it be sucessful or a miserable whiney butt failure.

These are the FACTS do what you will with them, pass judgement whatever I have no vested interest in this anymore, smokers are in our future not trucks, I still have a passion to see it grow, but cannot assist the growth of the classes other than spouting my mouth off here.

Sincerely, Brandon

I am in to help in any way I can but I think the only way I can help for now is to show up for events. With work and family life in the mix it makes it difficult but I can do my best to show up at as many pulls as possible pending the truck is operative.

Scott, I will be showing up @ Waterford next Saturday and will put the word out to others. I will also be attending all the L&L pulls in Newman and planning on Sonora as well since their pulls "Welcome all classes" as their flyers from last year state which they are using again this year to advertise on their csspulling.com site. Newman on Father's Day is a good one to make it to after the JH rally as I think I got Tom to commit to that one on his drive back from Redding. :cool:Oo.

Obviously, the VTPA diesel classes do need to be re-evaluated as with only a Street and Extreme class and the rules they have for each it makes things difficult. Their Street class is basically no hanging weights, "stock" size turbo and a few other things that relate to a work stock DHRA class. Their Extreme class allows any size turbo/multiple turbos and just about everything for a mod class. They definately need something in between for trucks like mine, Tom's and Chris'. I think I will be giving my DHRA rule book to the VTPA promoter on Saturday... ... . but will also be pulling in whatever class they stick me in and hope for the best. :)

Well, see those of you attending next Saturday @ Waterford and maybe we can get something going here starting at that event. Oo.
