2006 Chevy 2500HD Cummins Swap

1990 f250 cummins swap help

Hadi, that looks great!! Love to hear about the design and fabrication process, the why and how of the P7100 injection pump, and what transmission you used. Again, nice work - should've come that way to start with :D

Awesome!!!

That's cool Hadi, we finally get to see the dream machine. Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

Work2much, the hummer gear reduction limits the top speed so using the VP44 pump means a rather slow highway pace. The "P" pump can be run several hundred rpm higher with a set of governer springs. This lets you scoot right along with the traffic. The other advantage to the "P" pump would be that for military use the mechanical pump might be more reliable in adverse conditions.

Last I heard it had a GM auto in it, T400 probably. I am told that Hadi had a sweet adapter made to bolt up the auto.

Nice ride:)

transmission

Youre right, Nowell Its a close cousin of the TH400 but with an overdrive. Its Known as the 4l80e. We change the output shaft to a custom metalurgically more sound one. Thats it

Hadi

One word - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! #ad

Sure wish you could bring that bad boy up here to the Silver Lake sand dunes and show a couple of guys there that bring their Hummers out just how they SHOULD run. One has the 350 and the other the 6. 5TD - they can crawl up the hills, but that's all they can do - crawl! They are pigs performance wise. Any idea on what the weight is versus a stock 6. 5TD powered one?

Sweet!

I'm glad we finaly get to see this mechanical marvel. I only wish you had taken it to the Heatwave in Austin last summer so I could have gotten a personal look. Instead some punk in a tricked out bug keyed my old '91. Thanks!

Great job.

Thought my compooter was broke for a while but now I see why it took a bit to load the page. The wait was well worth it! Super job on making the dream come , Hadi!!

wow

how would you change injectors on that?

emdiesel... i've tried to destroy hummers in the marines, can't be done in human hands.

the only one i've seen broke (non highway accident) was the one we dropped out of a C-130 from about 900ft and the parachute didn't open (actually the pallet extraction release failed ... . parachute never had a chance).

that is so cool... . did you buy new and start bombing?

Finally, a Hummer with an engine. I always kind of liked the Hummer but could never really get totaly excited about one knowing the hapless 6. 5 was under the hood.
