2006 Chevy 2500HD Cummins Swap

1990 f250 cummins swap help

Amazing!!! I would never had thought you would get a Cummins into a Hummer based on the size of the engine and the lay out of the front end of a Hummer. Amazing!!! You should enter at Timberline by all means. :D

Hadi, WOW, that is a lot of work, talent & imagination you do have something to be very proud of it is verrrrry cooool, thank you for sharing it with all of us,

good luck with it,

p7100 to 24 valve conversion

what is invovled in the conversion? I had thought that it would be a great idea. It would I think require a different timing gear cover and custom fuel lines. But i think that is a great idea if you start with a 215 hp pump. How do you know to get fuel right . Is the fuel dilivery the same. Thanks Jim

The P7100 on an ISB is a big project... Not only do you have to change the fuel lines and front cover, you have to move the fuel filter, change the cam, new fuel supply pump, and a multitude of other things. Not just a simple conversion.

Not just a simple conversion.

Depends on what you consider simple? Why would it be any harder or different then say tearing down an engine and rebuilding it? Granted its not something everyone can do but its not impossible. I believe some shops do it for about $4500 or so. A lil patience and a wrench (assorted tools) is all you would need.

Kat which shops have done the conversion. I have worked on a lot of diesels over last 15 or so years. I have to admit that changing a cam shaft might be difficult, but after changing both cams in a 1710 cummins, v12, in a 380 b wheel dozer, I think that it can be done, Does any one sell the parts to do the do the conversion. The benefits I think much more reliable fuel system and maby better fuel economy.

When I first looked at the pictures, I said to myself this was NOT a cheap engine swap. I'll bet that's a custom made Intercooler. Very professional job.

So is it a Hummins, or a cummer?

Hope I don't get in any trouble for that one:(

Very cool conversion, I would have never come up with that idea by myself!

it weren't cheap--I called and talked to Hadi about 2. 5 years ago about parts he made for this--very professional job for sure--I think he's done a couple of others also--but he doesn't post anymore so I'm not sure what's up with him... chris

I guarantee that his pics generated more interest than he could have ever imagined. Hadi might have become overwhwelmed by repetitive emails and questions from those who could not afford the parts, let alone the vehicle platform itself.

I know alot of guys who have been turned off from participating in other forums after having their inboxes filled up day after day. It tends to really put one in a frustrated position. :(
