Boy, I don't know how anyone got a machine shop to turn that opening for $10 a rim. Everyone I've talked to wants a 2 hour shop rate at $90 per hour to do this for me. I've talked to 8 shops and showed them the photos that Yo Hoot has on his site for reference. The cheapist quote was $160 for the 4 rims. Even then, every single place told me they were quite busy and couldn't get to it for at least two weeks. The shop guys I talked to all said they are working 60 hour weeks, have been for some years and don't expect any slow down. Any damn liberal democrats out there saying that America is going into the toilet better think again. With an economy like this, I dont see how anyone could be on welfare. Any machinists out there looking for a job, or anyone wanting to become a machinist should come to California. You will earn more than a medical doctor anywhere else in the country.
With all that said, does anyone have a contact in Northern California that would charge a fair price for reaming my rims?
thanks!!
