We now have another option for you HX40w wanabes. We have available the HX40w compressor side conversion for the HX35w. Which changes the HX35 compressor wheel and housing to the HX40 spec 8. 3 liter size. For a lot less than converting to the complete HX40w. I believe this will have the no lag effect with the high boost. Let me know if there is any interest in this as it is quite new. I will stock these if the demand is there

This "KIT" would take the place of the compressor side only. The center section and exhaust would be retained IF the EGTs can handle it. This kit is not designed to replace the HX40 for BIG horsepower applications. It is meant to be an alternative for those that are happy with the 250-350 horsepower range. When approaching 400 horse the HX40 would be a better choice. Remember, there are plenty of 18. 5cm2 housings laying around from the first gen. boys that would be a perfect fit for the conversion with the biggest outlet. Stabco has plenty! I believe that the conversion for the HX35 WITH the 14cm2 housing would be the best all around power and low EGTs. The most important thing to remember with big housings is: The bigger the housing the longer the lag. I like the fine tuning aspect of this kit. It is being put together at this time with and with out the 14cm2 housing and the TDR will be the first to know the results!

The test mule is a straight piped '96 5spd with NO fuel enhancements.

I'm very interested! How many greenbacks are we looking at for the HX40 compressor section and the 14CM2 exhaust housing? How long till you can have some "hard" performance data? Will the 14CM2 housing require the any modifications to a stock exhaust system with a Pac Brake?

Stab:

I commend all the work you have done
on this!

I posted to you in the "24 Valve Engine"
area about the price as "Rebel" did.
Unfortunately, I am unable to e-mail
out at this time due to a recent
problem with my computer after a
thunderstorm. Can you give me a
phone # where I could call you?

Or can you e-mail me the number or
price? My e-mail is contained in
my profile info.

Thanks!

I'm interested! What parts get changed? If it helps a stock fueled truck it should really help a pumped up one! Craig

My dyno and road testing hs indicated that up to 350 hp on the Dynojet, the HX35 with 16 cm2 housing is OK. Over that, egts are too high even with a bigger (18. 5 or 21) housing telling us that a bigger outlet is needed, hence the HX40 outlet for the 4" pipe. A modest improvement in egt might be found from a bigger compressor wheel and housing because the highly boosted intake air would be a bit cooler. It seems the main improvement needed is on the exhaust side, however.

Joe, I was hoping you would show up for this discussion. I will be testing different combos with this compressor. Has Piers done anything with this?

You are balancing the hybrid assembly before shipment... . right??

FL60, The wheels themselves are balanced yes, but a complete balancing includes the exhaust wheel-shaft plus the compressor wheel. Holset marks the shafts which are supposed to line up with balancing marks on the compressor wheels on assembly. Even on an unmatched shaft.
