Looking for input on how my fuel and torque curve will shift on a 4BT modified from the H1C to the HY35W, Intercooler addition and bosch 185's. My obejective is to select tire size knowing where best fuel economy will shift to. Before changes my curves show best economy at 1700 rpm. With my present drivetrain i should be 65 mph @ 1750-1800. I was also planning on advancing the timing and would like input on how this might chift the fuel and torque/hp curves across the RPM axis.

Since the 4B is 2/3s the engine of the 6Bs I would suspect that all of the other aspects of power would be the same. You peak torque is still going to be @ 1700 rpm and peak hp is still going to be @ 2500rpm assuming you don't change the governor springs.

My Scout does 65 @ about 1870 rpm, mileage is in the low to mid 20's at that speed.

I've advanced my timing to 1. 4 mm. Saw no change in EGT's. Can hardly wait to hear how your mod turn out, bomb away!

Gee, I don't know. All of the trips I've taken with the Scout I've not exceeded a steady 65 mph. But being that it's related to all the VE pump B's the closer the rpm's get to 2000 the worse the mileage will be. Past 2000 rpm your into the power range of the engine.
