I too run a high tech turbo hybrid. I still run with the stock housing = no lag. Easy upgrade, especially if you have access to a lathe (for stage 3) - or know someone.
Yup... 42-44 psi boost... No problems & no lag. I have to confess that I love the whistle I get when I lift off the go pedal. It sounds just like my neighbor's vermeer wood chipper.
The only downside is that it cooled my egt's pretty good and that allowed me to (you guessed it) add more fuel. I bet this would make a great secondary for a twin set up.
I run at sea level to maybe 1900 feet tops. I never towed a thing. EGT's used to be in check (1250ish) when I had my 300 marines and the plate in the center. The way I looked at was that it cost only a fraction of a full replacement (upgrade) turbo. It'll also make a very nice secondary for twins... .
