Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Hydraulic clutch fluid

The fluid in my hyd. clutch resevoir is starting to turn slightly brownish. What causes that and what is that fluid?? I want to suck out what I can and replace it.

On my volvo, the clutch slave cylinder fluid is dot 4 brake fluid.





Maybe its the same.
