Intake = Scotty III (ordering next week)

Gauges = Trying to find a pod that will fit four gauges :{ . . ANd i have a hook up on autometers. I will get all four for under 100 bucks ;) (hopefully will get within 2 weeks)

Nick

Sounds like you have a good start, I have never seen a 4 guage pod, wonder if their is any room on the A pilar. Have you tried seeing is 2 two guage pods would fit on their. Or they do make a 2 guage that goes on the column, then you could put 2 more on the A pilar.

Sooo you got a good in a buying Autometer guages, I need a bunch of Ultr-Lite's for my other truck... ...

You can order the DA03 airbox anytime. We still use the stock rubber bellows, with a new piece to replace the air silencer.

The new piping comes with the turbo kit, not with the airbox.

You mean you're an "aesthetics" freak. ;) I am the same way. The column pod is very neat, it's just not pleasing to the eye..... Not to me anyway. I don't much care for the dash pod either... 'specially seein's how I'd lose my center channel speaker if I put that pod in the center of my dash

Here's a pic of my 3 gauge pillar install... Man I just DON'T see ANY way possible to get 4 gauges there though. My vision is impaired enough with the 3 gauge one. I can't imagine stacking another one next to it or something like that. The rake of the windshield is so so so steep, it leaves a lot less room for gauges. The bottom pod rests on the dash, and if you had one more on top, you'd have to recline your seat to be able to read it.

I've thought about adding the trans temp gauge, in like a bullet pod mounted to a flexible arm that was attached to the floor inside the floor storage between the front seats... . day to day, I'd bend it inside the storage and shut the seattop... but on pull or drag days, flex it out so I could see it. Just a thought? Day to day, date night, show and shine, etc... just tuck it away. Brutal power day, pull it out.

All in all, I'm glad I picked the gauges that I did, and glad I went with the A-Pillar pod. It looks good inside the truck and outside. I've been flagged down on the road and interstate a couple of times by other CTDs... People wanna know what it is, what it's for, etc. Makes ya smile to be able to share what little knowledge you do have with someone else.

Andyman that looks great. I also like what bHaner posted. Maybe i will do the 2 most imorpant gauges right in front of me and the others off to the side? Which two would you all recommend right in front of me (2). Im thinking maybe Pyro On front right. Boost on front left. Trans temp on upper a-pillar, and fuel pressure on bottom a-pillar? How does that sound... Opinions please :)

Nick

Boost is just a cool guage. Not really to important. Pyro is gets top priority. Then trans temp if you plan to tow. 220* can kill a transmission fast. Fuel pressure is also an important guage if you plan on any bombs. I would put the Pyro at eye level then put what ever you want around it.

Well what psi you guy think i will be at when i do the new edge + DDIII + DDTurbo ( whatever turbo i get recomended for 500 rwhp) + And of course intake and exhaust? If it is around 40 psi that i will be running then im gonna have to watch the boost gauge i dont want to go over 45 because ive been told thats the limit of the stock head gasket. .

Nick

This sounds really stupid, but how about trying something like this... Get some Dixie cups and some masking tape, then tape the small cups in the areas your gauges are gonna be... . Sit in the truck or drive around and see where you're eyes fall most naturally. Those locations are where I'd look to put the gauges I felt were most important.

On a simmilar note... DON'T forget to get the boost bolt from Piers. It will make the boost gauge install MUCH better. Best $18 I've spent. If you order from Geno's, they include it for free (great guys!!!).

ALSO, as you start to add BOMB's, remember that you run the risk of being your own warranty station. Drilling holes, and adding boxes MAY get you into warranty trouble with DC should a problem arise. I say full speed ahead brother... if you've got the jack to do the stuff you've been wanting to, make sure you're willing to shell out the bucks if DC says no if something breaks. Feel me? Your dealer may not give a crap, it's just a gamble you need to be aware of. Remeber: If you wanna play, you gotta pay.

Really the boost is not all that important. It is more of a diagnostic think to see if everything is working right. Oh and it is a good way to tell how good or bad of mileage you are getting.

OHHH JIMMY!!!! I get 20 unloaded. City driving with a heavy foot... . Not sure what I get pulling the sled. . I can't ever get more than 370 feet. ;)

well i never tow so towing id probebly get worse than a 8. 1 chevy. I do alot of short trips (10 miles or less) and it is very cold here so it sits at idle for 5 minutes before i go. And i have a heavy foot along with 4. 10 gears and the automatic trans. . hehe thats why its 11. 5 :(
