if it wasn't gonna cost money, it would be funny.

so i am installing my new super B turbo. when i lined up the outlet with the intercooler tube, it looked like the primary hose (2-3/4" dia x 8" long) was a little too long. even though the instructions said nothing about cutting it, i figured i knew better. i figured if i cut off about 1" it would line up perfectly. HOWEVER, i forgot to verify the fact that the steel wire reinforced center of the hose would not fit over the steel tube.

the dealer wants $65 for the new hose. NAPA got me a nice heavy duty boost hose, but it is too big for the clamps to fit over. the hose really should be shorter than the factory length. it also needs to handle 40 lbs boost. so now what?

suggest away.

lil red - When I installed mine, I never cut the hose - it fit alright, but you know that now. The factory intercooler hose sure is flimsy - 65. 00 ? What a joke. If you have the time I would order the new heavy duty kits from either BD or Piers. Or like Dieselman suggested - go for a test drive. :-laf

By the way your gonna love that new turbo - Good luck.

are you talking about the factory lower bent hose ??...

If so PM me your address I have a spare [I went with Piers ones so the factory is in a box]

not sure what truck your talking about ... the one I have is from the 01. 5 rig below

If you wanted Jim I could sell you the whole big daddy hose kit from BD but I'm hoping my buddy Dave helped you out let me know how it goes talk to you later.

Go to your local truck parts supply house and get a hose and clamps. They should have a heavy duty hose for arround $8. 00-$10. 00. and heavy duty clamps for $7. 00 ea.

billy ram,

i got a hose from NAPA but it was too thick for the clamps to go over and i was leary about using standard hose clamps. it was rated to 40 psi though. the thinner hoses they had were not rated over 30 psi. should have the correct hose coming in today.

man i miss this truck! its been down for almost a month now.
