if it wasn't gonna cost money, it would be funny.
so i am installing my new super B turbo. when i lined up the outlet with the intercooler tube, it looked like the primary hose (2-3/4" dia x 8" long) was a little too long. even though the instructions said nothing about cutting it, i figured i knew better. i figured if i cut off about 1" it would line up perfectly. HOWEVER, i forgot to verify the fact that the steel wire reinforced center of the hose would not fit over the steel tube.
the dealer wants $65 for the new hose. NAPA got me a nice heavy duty boost hose, but it is too big for the clamps to fit over. the hose really should be shorter than the factory length. it also needs to handle 40 lbs boost. so now what?
suggest away.
