I have been waiting for this day for 16 long hard months now, some of you have read that 16 months ago my employer assigned me a task of being an inspector for the construction of a new processing plant for whats considered to be some of the most challenging gas in the world, the plant was to cost 278 million bucks, well it ended up costing right at 350 million by the time we got it to completion.
Today at 11:45 am we put inlet feed into it and are slowly bringing it up to speed, we are currently at 100 mmcfd (million cubic feet per day) that is turndown rate which is as slow as it can ever go but still be on-line, this is giving us 67 mmcfd to sales and the rest (co2 and h2s) is being sent to flare to be burnt into so2 until we get our catilist beds sulfided, we should have that done by 7 pm tomorrow and then all the tailgas will be turned into sulpher and then to sales, we currently have a waiver to emmitt these burnt gases to atmosphere. up-turn is 200 mmcfd feed with 120 mmcfd sales.
I have been extremly pre-occupied by the plant construction and am very tired of overtime and 7 day schedules. when the plant gets "GINNIN" ( thats what we call it when all systems are in good shape) then I get to go back on shift
7 on and 7 off
... ... ... ... ... . I am over ready to get back to normal... ... ... ... . Kevin
