I always remove the PEAK cardboard box and just the plastic jug. Works better that way for me.
Hey Be nice! Some of us don't know how bad our 12s are![]()
Guess there should be DEF Tank refilling classes! :-laf
Don't give the government any ideas... I can see them requiring a license and certification (for a "small fee" of course) before one can handle DEF...
You do know you have a small funnel under the passenger seat you can use right?
Then you don't need the plastic hose
that come in the Blue DEF box.
Dave...
That funnel is not for DEF purposes.....
Exactly. Mine has been repurposed for a beer bong
Make sure you tighten the plastic nozzle plenty tight when you put it on the bottle. I thought it was tight the first time I used it but wasn't and leaked. I really set up on it the next time and had no more leaks. The way the bottle and nozzle are designed makes it hard to get started and tighten, IMO.This stuff is a major PITFA man! I mean, I'm all for clean air but lets do it right. All diesel pumps should have it with the auto shutoff feature like the big rig stops. Using the cardboard container to fill is a joke. No mater what I do it leaks all over.
There is no ammonia. It has urea.Use de-ionized water now, system doesn’t the difference since there is no ammonia sensor.

Are the systems prone to failure or do people just not like dealing with it? I'm kinda new to diesel and am familiar with the system I just don't understand the frustration with it
