its in the double u joint thing ( the correct name escapes me at this moment ) next to the t case. very hard to see. but it is there. a recessed zerk of sorts. use a needle on your grease gun to fill it. happy trucking!

Perfect, thank you telling me! I just replaced both U-joints in the front

While I'm doing my daily morning(yes there's usually more in the evening lol) Amazon shopping, does anyone know what kind of grease I need to use?

Look up this thread. "EASY! 2013 up oil change"

Follow that method and oil and filter used and you will be golden, proof below.

If anyone is reading this looking for the same info, I think this is the kind you need to use for that fitting: http://a.co/d/9TWcqzH
Genuine Chrysler Accessories 5083150AA Multi-Purpose Grease

You can certainly use that, but it is pretty over priced IMO. I generally use Schaeffer's or Almagard. Schaeffer's is pricey too unless you have a rep in your area.

But most any NLGI grade #2 bearing (not chassis) grease will be just fine. I know most of the parts stores locally carry Mobil 1 among others which is good quality and an economical grease.

Those TBN’s are a tad on the low side.....compared to some other oils.

TBN's haven't been high since CI oil, at least not that I have seen.

Nothing wrong with those TBN's, considering the oil has 15K miles on it.

Minimum TBN from Cummins for the ISB is 2.5. One of the reasons I don't like blackstone is that they have their own idea of what's right, instead of using published Cummins data.

From my Blackstone report "TBN is strong at 4.6" straight from the professionals.

Oil starts out at 10.1 TBN

GS maybe show me a sample that is higher at the same 15k and truck mileage.

GS that's a good report but my towing is 1/3 of my miles and the other mileage is not towing and lots of 5 mile trips. You are usually towing something at some distance almost every time you start the truck. Both are good reports but considerably different conditions.

Based on what you state.....are you making excuses for the AMZ/OIL numbers insinuating that the 5 mile trips are that much HARDER on the oil compared to my towing regimen, or is towing more than 50% possibly easier on the engine oil? If you’ll remember......I’m typically towing more than 50% but not much more. It’s actually only about 52.2%

I think we’re all aware that one of the hardest things on oil is short trips. Short trips are detrimental to TBN.

I would take an engine that towed 100% of it's miles at let's say 100k on odo compared to same truck with minimal towing along with shorter trips.

Not making any excuses at all. GS your trucks engine get's about the best possible service it can with the loaded and unloaded longer intervals.
