Hey GSBrockman and members,

You stated some very good points. I like your calling it a "money wagon". Definitely can relate. I just have the Tradesman but with the G56 Manual Trans.

Mine is at 165,000 plus. I am pulling the trailer below and am registered for 38,000 GVW; usually hit around 34,000 GVW. Hard on the truck. I'm going for my own authority next month beginning with a visit to NASTC in Gallatin, TN.

Getting ready to put brakes on for the first time. Have to first buy some Miller specialty tools for the rear rotors

This load was for a friend from Montana to Maine. Not the heaviest I've hauled.

250k+ on the OE unit bearings, AND brakes, is impressive longevity. Did you routinely grease the the bearings through the hole, or was this with zero grease/maintenance?

How often do you change your transmission oil?

Good driving!

C'mon you haven't installed Fumoto Valve?
Everything that I have that Fumoto Makes a valve for form Lawn mowers to Shop Air compressors.
I know of Owners with 2013s 6.7 with 400k Miles on Factory Emissions just the fuel stuff being freshen up and some Water pumps belts minor stuff, Proper maintenance and habits and I'm sure some will break 500k miles. I've had owners call Me at 80-100K miles wanting to delete BC of emission failures (Understandable But We don't do them ), Driving habits have a big part in longevity.

I was going to but when you "eyeball" the install you see a possibility of the valve getting sheered off if you hit something, or if something hit it, like a chunk of ice on the shoulder. Unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility.

Truckmen , its possible but extremely not likely.. It sure makes things easier. Sampling next to impossible VIA plug

Very true;
Can't count how many times I am burning my hands while pulling a sample. Ready to do it again here in a few hours. :)

By the way, decided to order a Fumoto F-104N for mine. Should be here when I get back to Maine from this Idaho load I have.

Greg, i am coming up on my first drain and refill on my Aisin. I plan to drain and measure what comes out and refill. Members here and elsewhere have complained about a harsh shift and a code after a drain and refill or a drain, filter, and refill on the Aisin. Have you experienced this beyond your first drain where you got a code? Is this harsh shift and code when doing this task avoidable? I do not have a code reader yet and would like to avoid the issue if possible. If i remember correctly you were low on fluid when this first happened to you. Have you avoided subsequent codes with proper level or is the reset part of the process?
Also, i am in for more information on greasing the bearings if the consensus is to do it.
Thanks

This is so true! This is the main issue at my job, since the house to house drive cycle soots things up quick. Also a friend who has a brand F 6.4 is always spotted in town looking like a skywriter with a 4 car length trail of white coming off him.

Perhaps Ford copied the 2010 ish Duramax regen strategy, or dude lost a piston ring??

Hit the 300k mile mark today returning from Salisbury, NC :)

Just the day / night before, I ran a load of trailers to our drop yard in Salisbury, NC. Trailers weighed in at 18,400 lbs....total GCW was about 27,760.

Call me a broken record..... :-laf .....Truck is still great....the 6.7L bone stock Cummins is great, and the AS69RC is superb.

Did I mention I am still on OEM brake linings?

Hello Gregory and forum peeps!

Well, I am in a bit of a sticky wicket but hopefully will limp home ok. In Norton, Va after loading car #3 for New York, I have what sounds very much like a throwout bearing on its way out. The screeching sound is pretty bad. It comes and goes but so far, I'm still rolling. I am supposed to be loading a 4th car in Christiansburg, VA tomorrow morning, then head to Niagara Falls to drop a car and pick up a car. Then on across to Albany, NY and my final destination of Maine.

Already, my transmission jumps out of 6th when I coast downhill. That is another issue and, I have a high-pitched sound from what I believe is a high-pressure leak from the aftercooler.

Has anyone tackled a replacement of the throwout bearing on their own with one of these 6.7s/G56 manual trans combinations? I will try to get back to my shop in Stockton Springs, Maine. I'm sure I am going to replace the clutch while I am at it.

Below is my mileage. Almost at 200,000.

love the update!

Don't have a Facebook account....and I don't have a Fumoto. I guess I'm still a caveman :-laf
On a sidenote....my Murray Temperature Control CP6222 water pump has about 156k miles on it. It has performed great.....especially compared to my OEM that failed at 94k miles. In addition, I did get 229k miles out of the OEM serpentine belt. Probably could have went longer based on the small amount of cracking, but I opted to replace it. MOPAR was my belt of choice. Next round of maintenance will include AS69RC sump filter and another cooling system drain & fill.
My Murray unit croaked on Friday in Statesville, NC with 207,962 miles of use. Overall, I am happy with the life I received out of it. It has been replaced with another Murray unit.

Today I hit the 350,000 milestone.

I was towing a 35+5 gooseneck with a 25+5 dual tandem pintle trailer with 20K axles and air brakes and an 18+2 14k equipment trailer. Trailers weighed in around 20,600 lbs...total GCW was about 29,960 lbs. Did I mention the truck, the 6.7L bone-stock Cummins, and the AS69RC are still great? Additionally....the Bridgestone R500 HDs are at 142k miles.

That's incredible service out of those tires. Ever have them in snow? I imagine they have to be a hard compound to last so many miles.

Aren't you getting tired of looking at those tires, yet?:D

Nice low profile load, except for the load ramps. Do you think it would be worth it (in wind resistance) to lay them down? Maybe use a couple of old big truck mud flaps for paint protection.

Are you using these winches and if so how do you like them?

I have some of these.

Since you haul a lot of the same stacks of trailers, would it be more convenient to cut some excess strap off, so you are not rolling up all that strap, in the rain...Lol. Not arm chair quarterbacking your haul practice at all, just throwing some thoughts out there.

Nick
