Someone bidding on a NOS Cummins computer for their truck. I guess they don't realize that Advanced Auto has them for $222 rebuilt with a 1 year warranty.

It says it is for a 92 with a manual transmission. Why would a 92 with a manual have a computer? I thought the computer was only to control the automatic trans?

At least on the 2nd gen trucks, it also has the voltage regulator for the alternator in it. Plus, I think it controls the gauges/idiot lights, and stuff like that.

It controls speedo, cruise control, and I think it has the voltage regulator as well. Maybe one or two others but without getting the manual out ...

What Carl said and the A/C as well along with the OD shift point on the automatics. Is the timer for the grid heaters in there as well?



What a PITA when it goes out. I plan to do the crew cab with 89 wireing so no computer.
