Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) I know, I know..

I should probably have some transmission upgrades by now, but. . When I turn up the potentiometer knob for my Blue Chip box, I'll get a good shudder, if I'm towing the trailer and if the knob goes 2/3 of the way or better. I'm assuming that this shudder is my auto. telling me that it doesn't like the extra power. What are the possibilities of the shudder ?? Is it the torque converter ?? Internal transmission parts giving out ?? Is it too late to save the transmission with a valve body and torque converter upgrade ?? The truck drives absolutely fine without the trailer. I can get as deep into the box as I want, with out any types of shudder. I only get the shudder pulling my 8K (total weight) gooseneck trailer under heavy loads of the road.

Probably the lock-up clutch in the T/C.

I can't believe nobody else has any input on my transmission problems. Any thoughts on if it's too late to put a valve body and T/C in ??

It is probably the direct clutch pack, the TC would be the next suspect in the lineup.



Yes your transmission is saveable, IF you do it now and DON"T let it shudder again.



PS, a little clearer thread title would draw more people to look who might have input... ... .
