FINALLY got the Lance!

A&E Awning Center Rafter install

Just wanted to share this great experience w/everyone. We own a 2003 Eagle Cap 950 camper. We already loved the camper before this experience.

I just got back from my annual camping trip on the Snake River on the Oregon/Idaho border. During the trip we noticed our camper CD player didn't work.

Eagle Cap is in LaGrande, OR which is on the way home to Portland. I called Eagle Cap from the campground and told them about my problem and asked if I could stop by their facility on the way home. They told me to stop by anytime. (Obviously, I should have gotten the dealer involved, but since I was in the area, I wanted to see if they could help me. I hate things not working and I wanted to get it fixed ASAP... )

I arrived at 10:30am on FRI. I was greeted by Sara who then introduced me to Steve Calhoun, the Production Manager.

I am a really anal person and since I was stopping by, I had made a list of 4 small items that needed repair, in my opinion. Basically, I am a real pain the butt... Real minor things.

Not only did Steve and his crew jump right on my camper, they did it with a huge smile. They did everything on the list w/o a question. Then they really blew me away. They told me the rust stains on my rear drop step were unacceptable and replaced the step with a newer version made of aluminum. The rust stains were only visible when the step was in the travel position. The step wasn't even on my list! When they finished, they even asked if I approved.

They offered us lunch, gave me a tour of their plant and made us feel like important people. Steve also gave me two very nice baseball caps with the Eagle Cap logo. These are high quality cotton caps that are tan and navy blue. I am going to wear them with pride.

Now for the kickers, Steve said he loved my truck and we were back on the road by 11:30am!

Thank you Eagle Cap!

EAGLE CAP ??

I am not familiar with the name. . do they have a site link ?? Sounds like a great company to be dealing with !! Your story would go far in their public relations department !! Don't you wish some of the car & truck dealers were like that ;o)

Thanks for sharing your story with us !!

No Sway Bar on 03

Irutigliano

Read your post about the Eaglecap Camper, we live in Cove,OR right by LaGrande and those are very nice campers. :)

How does it haul with out sway bars, it is my understanding that on the 03's sway bars are not an option.

I never thought to ask the salesmen about them. Do you run air bags? I had airbags on my 91 and 95 and that is why we went with the 1 ton, figured we would not need airbags.

Also what kind of mileage do you get, we haul a 10. 6 Alpinelite.

Our 03 should be here Monday or Tuesday.

Ray:

The 3500 SRW hauls the camper extremely well. Practically no sway. The '03s don't have a sway bar because the rear springs are spaced further apart than the '02 and before. I do have the overloads and with the 4000lb camper, I just barely engage the overloads. The truck drops approx 3. 5" in the rear and it sits level with the camper on it.

I had airbags on the '01 and I didn't like them. They didn't seem to help the sway because when you pumped them up, the rear end raised up like with no load. That made the camper seem "tippy".

Unloaded, I'm getting 18mpg back and forth to work. With the camper, 13-14 mpg. Camper and boat, 10. 5mpg, although most of the time I'm going faster than 65mph.

Eaglecap is at www.eaglecapcampers.com

You will absolutely enjoy the '03 3500.

Thanks for the info on the mileage. I know with my 95 i got good mileage if i drove about 62 but if I got close to 70 it dropped down a lot. We are very seldom in a hurry to get any place unless

it is to the Snake River for fishing and you cannot drive fast thru the Powder River Canyon any how.

They should have my 03 ready Wednesday. Can hardly wait. :D
