hello all, I would like to take a minute to introduce myself, I have been lurking around here and other sites on and off for some time now and finally decided this site was worth joining. I am on my second Dodge diesel now my first being a 95 auto reg-cab 4x4 and as you can see, I now have a 2001 Q-cab 4x4. a little history for myself I had little trouble out of my last truck the normal things axle seals, batteries, light switches, transmission problems but all told, I was so happy with it I traded in august 2000 for my new one. with it I have not been so lucky, to date I have had to get the dealer to remove the factory oil filter (it took 2 men) and at 12,743mi. the clutch lost all the linning on the pressureplate side, and the latest thing was last week with 15,800mi. I took it in with a cracked case on the NV4500 and the dealer found a 7mm socket inside the transmission, yes that's right a socket inside the transmission,it did $3000 of damage. I was able however, both times to get it covered without any $ out of my pocket. thanks for your time and I'll be talking to you.

thanks for the invite Dave, I'm in southern IL. about 20 min from St. Louis Mo. I inquired yesterday about the GLTDR to see if I close enough to do anything with them. I am also considering starting up a Org. for MO/IL area. it seems there isnt anything around here, but there are alot of nice Dodges on the road around these parts. any help would be appreciated.

P. S. I will be at Indy in june.

Todd, myself and sagwagon have called together 4 meetings so far for the southern IL and MO areas. We had the last meeting on Feb 3rd. Maybe you did not see the posts in the Local Events area of this site. We have people coming from Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Kentucky. We normally have a great time. There is no chapter started yet. We are still talking about it, but honestly, we don't know if we will start one or just enjoy are getogethers. I just joined the GLTDR last week. I am planning on going to Muncie, IN in June. Anyway, that socket that somehow ended inside your 5 spd got into a battle and actually held up pretty well. It was pretty cool to see the teeth pattern in the ends of the socket and it didn't even get smashed!. As you can tell I work for the dealer you took your truck to. We still don't have any idea where the socket came from. There isn't any fasteners for the trans that takes a 7mm socket. Come to one of our next meetings. I will be in April. Look for the post sometime in early March.

Welcome Todd,
Maybe you could start a new topic named
"What's the strangest thing ever found in your truck?"

Finding a socket inside the transmission would surely qualify!

well this is kinda strange, I guess i'll have to keep my mods off my signature since I now know "their watching" haha I guess the good that can come of it is the Dealer will now have an appointment already for me when I come in. and maybe we can avoid some down time that way. huh.

I don't think you will have to worry about the signature or mods. My 2000 3500 had a Power Edge fueling module on it until I traded it in. Do a search and email a member that goes by the name Markcuda. His truck broke down in St. Louis and he called me up and we had the truck towed into the dealership. The tech said nothing about the add ons. It had nothing to do with the cause of the truck dying. Anyway, that is the way we look at things. If the mod does not cause the problem with the truck, we don't have a problem with getting work done under warranty. If it is caused by the mod without any doubts then the repair would be on the owner. Just thought I would let you know if you are in fact a little worried about bombing or if you weren't disregard this post.

I not worried, I know the game, and as long as the rules dont change were all fine.
I was just poking fun at the situation.

I would like to here from you, I sent you an email and I am serious about getting something going or helping you out with it.
