I bought a diesel that requires me to currently pay 10 cents more than premium!!!!! Don't you think that we are being taken advantage of with the cost of diesel??? There is no way - other than they can - charge more - in my case +30 cents MORE THAN REGULAR GAS! Even .

And the rock and a hardspot I see is that while the Dems hate diesels and driving - so no help there - and the Republicans want to fatten the corporate bottom line!!!! So no help there! I feel like I'm being robbed! Anybody else feel the same way???????

I totaly agree with you. Although here in N. Cal diesel is the same as or a couple of cents less than premium gasoline. It is BS, there is no way that diesel should be as much as regular gasoline let alone more.

I'm actually fairly surprised that trucker's havn't begun striking. The fact is that Diesel is much cheaper to make, as it takes less refineing to produce. I think anyone in N. Cal gets the bone though because I know that diesel is waaaay cheaper outside this lovely state. People here feel that diesel is so polluting, but the fact is with new technology, gassers are worse then diesels!

Where you been? Diesel prices have been up for the past few years!!! $2. 25 a gal here in Pa. , two years ago it was $2. 00 a gal ... ... ... ... ... .

Wow, didn't realize they were getting that expensive in the rest of the world. I live in the bay area and there have always been inflated prices here. When I went to Phoenix for christmas diesel was almost 70 cents cheaper! In Nevada I've seen it go for 1. 80 which compared to here is like getting it free.

I don't mind diesel being more expensive- the increased fuel economy more than offsets a tiny cost difference.

Connecticut $2.25 per Gallon

Connecticut $2. 249 Gallon :{ , Premium Unleaded $2. 05 :( I remember in 1999 paying $1. 05 for diesel. I am currently planning to convert my CTD to run on Waste Vegtable Oil (WVO), should cost less than $1. 00 per gallon. I bet they (Whom ever fouls things up) will figure out a way to foul that price up too... Regards, Moose00

It went up 25 cents this week at my usual pump. Across the street is 21 cents less. $ 2. 23 is ridiculous, but what can you do? It isn`t too high yet, cuz we`re still buying it. DK.

Don't forget, all that diesel fuel cost to transport EVERYTHING to your local store, heck, including the dang diesel fuel, is the real scam. Everything has an added cost...

And a few posts above, no, running 85 octane for 20-25 cents less and a 3-5mpg difference does not pay to drive a diesel (empty F250 460ci 13mpg, empty W250 5. 9L ctd 17mpg).

The profits are going into the fat pockets of the oil companies. We heard for years and years that the US needs to be less dependent on foreign oil. We are now some 60% independent compared to some 30% independent during the 70's fuel shortages. The prices are higher for diesel now because to oil companies are choosing to export the fuel to Europe because they get more profit there. Our increased cost is due to shortage here in the states.

We have

It amazes me that the transportation industry has not revolted against these prices.

We have revolted, in our own way. We are adding a $. 19 / mile surcharge for every mile driven. This covers our added fuel costs. If the shipper don't like it, the freight sits.

The sad thing is that that increase will filter down to the consumer, putting the economy in the tank

It's up above 2. 10 in Reno again. What amazes me is that if you go to small towns up in Idaho, Montana, Eastern Oregon, and Eastern Washington, the price is usually less. And in Oregon they pump it for you! You know that those little towns have the fuel trucked to them. Here, it comes in a pipeline from the refineries in Oakland. A four hour drive! Unfortunately, I don't think that the cost of diesel and the higher mileage offsets the initial 3-4K that you pay to get the CTD in the first place. It would take a lot of miles and gallons. Always wondered why a diesel costs so much more than a gasser... doesn't even come with spark plugs! Just my 210 cents worth. :(

Whoa! Did I say 3-4K for a CTD? I just checked on Tomyguns site- even with their prices, CTD's are almost 5K! Really, can anyone explain that? Other than the fact that we'll pay that price? I know that PSD's and DM's are about the same. I guess if they didn't cost more, they wouldn't sell as many Hemis and Tritons.

right now the cheapest i can find is 1. 88 which isn't bad i guess but like someone else said when the thing is empty your looking at 50-70 bucks for a fill up depending on the price your paying, i agree its just plain theft. If it keeps going up and goes back to over $2 a gallon here i would be better of buying a mule to ride, LOL...

As someone mentioned the dems and rep. are for themselves and not for us(the people) they have there high paying job with all the perks which they shouldn't have, both sides are worthless in my opinion, just the other day i saw on headline news bush raised the budget for the space program another 2. 4%, now tell me what the heck do they need more money for, i mean with a budget of over 16billion what gives.

Our state Reps they are worthless to, these Porkbarrel programs there using millions of dollars for is just udderly stupid, why not dump that money back into the state's economy, but i guess that would be to easy and they would have to do without there nice limo's, fancy dinners and high end liquor...

I also agree the fuel situation is just plain stupid, we have reserves and the Arabs have already said that there has never been a shortage of oil and will never be... I feel like im getting it stuck to me every day, hopefully the pple in this country will one day realize just how coniving, and propaganda stricken our gov't is.

:-laf i feel better don't you... .

Really? HERE'S your answer! :(

"We have revolted, in our own way. We are adding a $. 19 / mile surcharge for every mile driven. This covers our added fuel costs. If the shipper don't like it, the freight sits. "

YUP, all the larger trucking outfits do is simply raise THEIR hauling prices, and pass their increased expenses on to the consumer!

Meanwhile, the smaller trucking outfits just go belly up... :( :(

SO, the consumer ends up not only paying their OWN increased fuel costs, but that of the trucking industry as well!

Wrong!!!!!!!!!! Imo

You folks who are running commercially have the option of passing on the $$$$$$ - us poor folks who can't - are being robbed AND we can't do a thing about it except choose wisely-----
