Just like the good old days. Banks is in the game. I like the man but I can’t bomb anymore. To old for it now the warranty didnt mean anything to me then but does now. Pretty funny really bomb on. More is always better right ? I love it.very winter out here in Alaska now. Shortest day tomorrow. Also winter begins tomorrow. Happy Holidays Stay Safe

It’s neat to see what they have come up with. Some people like pulling wrenches and being different. Others need to see a return on their investment. Some need to be the first to the top of the hill. I’m not as ambitious as I once was and my silver truck has warranty so I’ll leave it alone.

All fluff stuff to impress your buddies

My 3rd gen was stock except intake horn and supposed super breather filter. Never felt any added benefits. Only made my wallet thinner

Run the Rocky Mountain States with a good load, an exhaust brake is not fluff. Neither is some extra power.

A 3rd gen can be an '03, SO California truck or an '09, 6.7 with 6spd auto and factory exhaust brake. Apples and oranges.

I am a firm believer in mods for old trucks, my new one, not so much. It seems to be just fine as is. I did add air bags.

Yep, my 02 had some mods to keep up. Don't really see needing them on my 2018. I can tow my 10,000lb 5th wheel over I-68 out Morgantown WV and gain speed going up hill. My 02 could maintain 50-55mph towing 1000lbs less over I-68. And I like a clean non smoked up camper when we get where we are going..

My 98 was BOMBED and was driven by the pyro towing but my 15 is bone stock and does a great job towing 35k combined West Coast with ZERO concern for trans or engine heat.

You got me on that. My 3rd gen had a BD brake and I wouldn't live without it so add EB to my list. My 16 is my first ever automatic and the only reason was because of the Aisin transmission, EB and TH mode. I like the auto transmission 75% of the time.

all I really miss is the throaty sound of modified exhaust... My 09 4500 deleted and with stacks sounded like a real truck sounded.... but now I the engine and emissions make a nice deep note albeit quiet.

The first thing I did to my 3rd gen was take out the muffler and catalytic converter. Loved the sound until we bought our first 5th wheel. We had to yell when pulling hills to talk. I put the cat back on, made no difference in mileage, power etc and we didn’t have to yell anymore.

I kept the flow through muffler on my 4500 and it gave a nice tone... but a nice sound system and great cd's worked. Only straight piped truck was my 93... very nice!

I am new to some of the terminology you guys use. What do you mean by 'Bombing'? I prior Army, and Air Force, so I am thinking it isnt a good thing? :O) Thanks!

With my 2001.5 with Magnaflow 4" exhaust, stage one injectors and Comp in EZ mode I was not allowed to go for donuts on Friday mornings at 6am. As it woke up everyone in the RV Resort. Cummins 24Vs and the 7.3 Powerstroke where noisy even in their stock form.

98-02 we're probably the loudest truck ever!
A wonder that they have been street legal with that dB level.

NOT probably! They were, which include the injection noise of the VP-44 and injectors firing! And the 2002 and some 2001.5 did you get the under hood insulation.
