Gents,
I apologize for not posting more frequently - been very busy in Baja.
The "Cheyenne 8" is the style we chose for production because it's pretty conservative. All Weld "Cheyenne 8's" have the same look.
The difference is the offset - the most you can get in a normal EVO wheel is +10 mm - not enough for the Dodge. With only +10mm, the tires stick out of the fenderwells. Not good for many reasons. Another special thing about our wheel is that it's "hub-centric" - meaning it's the exact size of the Dodge hub. This centers the wheel on the hub and distributes load evenly, so all forces are not concentrated on the lugs.
We're currently testing the first 12 prototype wheels. Let me tell you, these wheels are STRONG. Last weekend prerunning for the Baja 500, on the hard part coming back to Santo Domingo, I hit a rock very hard at high speed (driver error). The sound it made was deafening. I got off the course and Robin Stover and I got out of the truck expecting to see the wheel "tacoed" completely but it wasn't. It wasn't even damaged! Of course the tire was blown. These are tough wheels.
We currently have a waiting list for the wheels. Call to get on it. We're going to do some special TDR pricing. Mention TDR and you get them for $435 each. Not bad for a wheel that retails for $575!
