As most of you have heard we had a nasty little storm pass through Ohio last Thursday. I was operating on a generator for almost 3 days, so I got a little behind on my reading here.
Anyway, here in south central Ohio, we got little snow and a lot of ice. So Thursday morning I unplug my truck and go to hop in ... ... . wrong, it was frozen shut. I checked all four doors before heading back to the house for a pitcher of hot water, they were all froze
So, as I'm getting to the back door, my girlfriend hands me a can of deicer and said try this! Cool I thought, never used it before, but looked promising and with no re-freeze!
Back to the truck! I went around the door seals twice with a good soaking, and was having so much fun I hit the windshield too ... ... ..... cool stuff!
Well, after a whole can and nothing, I'm thinking, so much for the frills, I need a pitcher of hot water! So I trudge back to the house and request the tried and true solution.
Back to the truck I go, hot water in hand (chunks of dog food floating in the pitcher used for feeding the hounds
, she could have at least rinsed it out right?). At this point, I've used a whole can of deicer, a whole pitcher of hot water, got chucks of soggy dog food on the roof of my truck and still nothing
As I'm standing there looking at the door in total amazement and confusion, she sticks her head out the door and says kinda sarcasticly "did you unlock it"!?!
I just gave her one of those deer in the headlight looks, didn't say a word, slowly put my hand in my pocket and hit the remote. All four doors opened with ease
I never carry my keys and always carry the remote, I must have bumped the darn thing which happens, but I was so focused on the ice, I never even gave it a thought.
So, no power at the house, frozen pipes at the shop and a truck froze up solid ... ... ... ..... How Was Your Christmas?
