I was looking at left over 13's, but $55K was more the ball park for a Laramie Longhorn.

Yep, that's in the neighborhood of prices I found for '13 3500 DRW, Aisin, Laramie Longhorn, and at that price, I'm not interested. However, the 14,000 GVWR would be nice for hauling our heavy Lance slide in truck camper.

Sure, if you demand every possible option, leather seats, etc. you will pay more. I'd rather have a new truck, nicely equipped, than keep the ten year old truck because I just have to get every option that is offered, or nothing. It is all in what you want vs. what you can afford to buy, lol.

Same here, we have a 1050s & pull a Jeep on a trailer./QUOTE]

A big load for the '97!! I see why you installed a NV5600. Nice rig!! Have you weighed your rig to see how much you are hauling and towing?

I don't tow, just haul and 500-700-lbs over the GVWR on the scales, depending on how it's loaded, but well within the axle ratings.

JD, I'm still trying to figure out the afford part, might retire next year & not sure how all that plays out.
Bill, I haven't weighed it, but the camper is around 4K, Jeep around 4K, trailer is #1300. Probably around
10K give or take a few pounds.
