If I have one pet peeve other than electronic overcomplication :-laf it would be idiot salespeople. I am buying your product you should know it like the back of your hand. I would never try selling something without knowing extensivly about it.
I go to a local motorcycle/atv/boat store in Covina CA called berts mega mall. I was looking for a 2002 Honda CR250 dirtbike and wanted to sit on some new ones and see if I found anything i might like better than the cr250.
I'm standing next to this couple and a salesman that is showing them a new TTR125 and other yamaha bikes. The man asks the salesman, "What is the difference between these trail bike suspensions and dirt bike suspensions?"
Now, here is what the salesman told him- "Well Sir, the trailbike suspension is made for riding on trails and the dirtbike suspensions are more for the dirt. "
Hmm, I did not know that trails were not made from dirt.
Then the guy accually asks him another question. He said, "I don't like how these new dirtbikes have electric start on them, why are they putting electric start on new bikes?" The moron salesman replies, "Lots of kids are riding today and they cannot kick the bikes over since they have so much combustion. "
Hmm, I didn't think the combustion process started until the bike accually started. LOL Maybe the fool meant compression. Another good point, if you can't kick the bike over, then you should not be on it :-laf
I could only shake my head and laugh. These guys are selling lots of bikes and making good money, If they knew the product think of all extra sales they would make.
Anyone got anymore good salesmoron stories?
Erik
