I usually spend all of my time in the 24V engine forum. But tomorrow that will change when I sell my 1999 2500 2WD and begin the lease of a 2005 1500 4x4. The 1500 will suit my needs better for what I need a truck to do.

Meantime I'll be monitoring the radar for a decent first gen. At this point I've decided I can't be w/o a Dodge Diesel. So for weekend fun and recreation I'll be sticking with the Cummins. I'm hooked anyway. Plus the first gens is what started it all for me.

I already have one in my sights... . a 1991 D250 regular cab. The local welding shop guy drives it and is always trying to sell it to me. If he can come down some we'll have a deal. Otherwise he wants to much for the miles and condition.

Anyway I hope to spend more time learning here. ;)

Whaddi tell yah Niel... ... ... ... ... I knew you'd find yer way back home soner 'er later.

... ... ... "so it was written"... ... ..... "call upon thy First Gen"... ... ... ... ...

"Ye though I may stray fromest , thou shalst never forsake thee". "Thy pump and thy holset, they comfort me". "Though I may take it uponst myself to rest in the comfort of another, thou shalst always be near me".

Welcome back, Neil -- I remember you from when I had my '99 and lived on the 24v forum. Glad to have your expertise over here!

Hey Neil,

Sorry to hear about you selling your 2nd Gen. How about giving us some specs on the 1st Gen you want, and we can keep our eyes open for it (a 2wd Regular Cab)?

Thanks for the words of encouragement!! I will be better off... I know it.

Although I'd consider anything... my ideal first gen would be a W250 4x4 regular cab, automatic, any year. Hopefully not rusted badly or beat up too much. I expect to have to do some body work and interior work but hopefully not a ton.

My goal is to get an aluminum flat bed on whatever I get. And I want it to dump too! That would be handy ;)... and fun! Even a truck with no bed or a service body would work for me. I've seen some used utility trucks go for cheap. As long as they had somewhat decent maintenance... I'll be good.

I'm going to be putting my '89 W250 up for sale soon. I need to get my '92 W350 ready for work first.

If you would be interested I'll let you know before I put it in the classified.

I may even have a dump hoist for sale also.

Jeff
