I'm having problems with Smarty files.

Well i went and updated my SMARTY with the new software and it loaded fine... . Well now what i get is a rattle between 1800-2100 rpm's..... So i put back to stock and was gonna load the software that the smarty came with when i bought it so i loaded that file back into the SMARTY and now when i plug into truck to load it i get the "UNKNOWN SOFTWARE" error message.....



Anyone with some input on this would be greatly appreciated... . I hate driving the truck with stock programming.....

Your old smarty software does not recognize the updated stock version you now have installed in your truck. You'll need to download the new software back on your smarty to use your smarty again. I think this is one of the downfalls of this programmer and it is the reason I have not updated to the new smarty software yet.

But when i do that i get a rattle around 1800-2100 rpm's... . thats putting it on SW3 which has the added timing..... Maybe i should try a different level? Is that what your thinking?

I just update also use SW2 without timing

SW2 is w/o timing do not use 04-07 it is met for the 07 smarty not for your 06. Use 04-07 for you download it have different hardware settings for our 06

Also try the thread Bob W. at (( Smarty CR software updates)) more help there. All smarty guys give great imfo. :-laf

If its ment for just 07 trucks then why does it say 04-07? I asked bob and he said that its the same programming as the 03-06 the reason they had to break it up like that is cause the smarty does have enough memory for an 03-07 software..... If im wronf i sure someone will chime in

You can use the 04-07 software. It is packaged that way because of memory constraints in the Smarty hardware.



Try some different levels or TM versions and see if that cures your rattle.

Mine rattles also. I don't know what version I am running. I just got it last week and installed level 4. It rattles more at idle and while driving. I thought this was just one of the traits of the Smarty.

Well I loaded the programming in for 03-06 on SW3 and its all better now... . No more rattle... ... But on SW3 and programming 04-07 i get rattle... . so something isn't the same.....



I got the SMARTY for my 06 the first day it came in and i just loaded the updated version that was put on the site on 12-21 and it seems to smoke a little more than the original version... . Any idea why? Did i do any damage running the rattle for about 30miles before i noticed it was rattling?
