I'm about to the point of getting a new one I keep seeing them all around and I got to have one to I'm looking for a single cab 4x4 slt ho 6 speed drw what should I try and get it for when I go to the dealer I'm not in no hurry just want to find the best deal and is there any good dealers in the east Texas parts that yall would recommend dealing with.

Here are a list of dealers...

kind of local to me and my thoughts.

Mike Perry Motor Co in Nacodoches TX. I bought my '99 here from salesman Joe Walton. Cut me a really good deal. Some of the salesmen are difficult to deal with, but Joe done good. Service was always great on my '92 from them, but the service has stunk on my '99 from them. Large dealer and sells lot's of Cummins Rams.

Southern Chrylser Plymonth Dodge in Lufkin TX. Tried to buy my '92 from them, but they would not deal with a young man of 23. Sales lady acted like I needed my "Daddy" to negotiate the deal and sign the check. Had service done there one time on my '92 (first fuel filter changed) and when I got it back the cruise control did not work. Never been back. Large dealer and sells lot's of Cummins.

Wayne Williams CPD in Crockett TX. Did not really want to get right on the price, but you can force their hand on price. They have done some service on my '99 and it has been fair. Small town dealer and small service department. Go to church with the owner.

Pearman Motor Company in Alto TX. Bought my '92 from them brand new. John Grindle got right on the price and beat everyone at that time. Gave me a loaner vehicle when it was under warranty and needed service. Service stunk. Problems not fixed the first time. After warranty went out, it was a game of parts changing on my dime until the fixed the problem. Never went back. Wouldn't compete on price when I bought my '99. Fair size dealer and sells lot's of Cummins.

Henson Motor Company in Madisonville TX. Heard nothing but good things about them, but never had any dealings with them. Large dealer and has large inventory of Cummins. This may be where I buy my next truck, but others are closer to me.

You can go to www.4adodge.com and put in a zip code of 75845 and it will bring up most of these dealers and you can check their inventory. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Thanks for your help I think I'm gonna head over to elder dodge in Athens today and see what the have and what kind of deal I can get I have a 2001 Chevy swb that I am trading in that is junk never had a truck with so many problems and I have been a Chevy fan but no more love my doge and going to another one I do owe more on the Chevy then there gonna give me Ill just have to live with the difference to get this thing out of my yard and I'm am gonna call Madisonville I had a friend who bought from them called them up told them what he wanted they said they had it he told them he would be invoice and walked out the door with it the next day he says they have great on the service to but who knows

Sounds like...

a good plan. I stopped in at Madisonville a couple of years ago. The salesman (Butch) came out while I was viewing their inventory. I ask him casually about trading mine. He said we start at invoice +/- $100 and deduct all rebates and discounts and that is the driveout price you pay! Sounded fair to me, but I did not persue the trade at that time.

Let me know how it goes if you deal with Madisonville.

this is a good deal:

$300-600 under invoice +$500 farm bureau member+$Xamount rebates.

should put your payment before taxes at 5000-7000 under sticker price:) I only got a 1500 dollar rebate and i was 5500 under sticker price. find a dealer that will order one for you at this deal that is what i did.

this info should help ya

Well Fridays are my only day off so I'm gonna go up that way next Friday and see what happens thanks for the help guys. i think signing up for tdr is the best 30 bucks I have spent

I was looking at dodge info .com and there was a guy on there that had some bad luck with them but they might be a great dealership is this were you bought yours did they get right on the price and how nice were they im looking to do this right money is tight right now and I need to get the best deal and do you have to pay sales tax if you are out of state

I spent several weeks exchanging e-mails with B. J. Gallatin at Henson Motors in Madisonville. I was down to the last two dealers -- Henson and Chaprell in Ada, Okla. -- when Mr. Gallatin told me that the truck I was interested in had been sold while he was away. Henson and Chaprell were only about $300 apart, and the trucks were not exactly alike. Three other dealers had dropped out around $2,500 HIGHER. I figured Mr. Gallation just got tired of dealing with me -- I'm sort of slow, and tend to fill up 3-ring binders with information before making a decision -- well, he gave me good advice about closing the deal with the other dealership, and sent me a couple of very nice e-mail messages AFTER I bought the truck from Chaprell.

During my negotiations, I checked out Henson Motors with the BBB: No problems. I checked them out with the Texas Motor Veh Dept consumer affairs section. A few complaints, perhaps 5 in the last five years. All were either resolved satisfactorily with the customer, or were determined to be unfounded.

Obviously, I didn't buy from them. But Mr. Gallatin is absolutely the MOST gracious gentleman I have talked with at a car dealership. If the other reports on Henson Motors are favorable, I'd go there.
