Imler Diesel Dyno Day Results

As some of you know for a number of years Ken has had a dyno day in Oct. Well last year he decided to have a dyno day in April and "Spring Fling" was started and it's now time for the 2nd annual "Spring Fling". More info will follow but the date is set for April 16th as more info is available and when we are ready to accept pre-registration I will post. Thanks and hope to see many of you from the Nor-Cal group but this event will be open to everyone!

your best bet is to go to

www.yahoo.com then click on yellow pages,

enter 2445 Harvard St

zip code 95815

and look for hotels

I know there is a Hilton and an Extended Stay at the end of the block, also a Red Lion Inn across the freeway, a Vagabond Inn about a mile or so away, not too much west of Imlers, lots of stuff just south and east of there all around Cal-Expo.

I live about 5 minutes from Imlers and my recommendation is to stay away from Jibboom Street, Auburn BLVD, or any hotel downtown (any numbered street ie: 10th-30th street), look for stuff on Howe Ave, Arden Way, or the Radisson is also in the area.

let me know if I can be of further assistance,

big jake

There Stomper I'll hook ya up, going to finish up some details with Ken before we head North and I will have hotel info after we get back. I may even stay over to not worry about the drinking and driving issue, going to see about the Hilton (its maybe 100 yards from the shop) they have a Bar and resturaunt but I assume it will be pricey but I'll check. You'll be more then welcome at my place but not top notch comfort level (couch & floor space). Anyway I'll let you know. Also as far as your dyno list you can add Ken's again in Oct. see ya Thursday bud. Jeff

Hey Stomp! Your truck was my favorite last weekend! Nothing like a sleeper. A couple of people were talking when you pulled into the shop "Nothing like a truck that smokes even at idle" :)

Anyway, I look forward to the 16th, and I'm trying to get my buddy with his D-max to show as well... . Banks six-gun and all.

Hopefully I'll have my new box installed by then, otherwise I'll be watching & learning!

JCleary

Yeah it is a bit of a sleeper isn't it. I wasn't going to dyno again because my last three dyno's have all been about the same, but thekidfan said I had to. Something about coming down to his turf or something like that. I might have to spend a couple of days working on the old girl to see if I can squeeze a little more hp out of her. I have some ideas so we will just have to wait and see if they help.

You pickup sure looked nice, and it probably rides nice to. If you want to go for a ride in mine you will need to bring a kidney belt. :-laf

Hey JCleary, I see a box in your post. Did you choose an enhancement for the truck? Run that thing!

I bit the bullet and pre-ordered the new Quadzilla box. I wanted to try something other than a TST & Edge, although I'll probably go down that road sooner or later, along with the other fun stuff :D

Quad's box is supposed to use some timing, duration, and less than 26k pressure. They told me it would ship by the 14th, allowing me some time to get it installed.

I'm looking forward to it working as advertised- 100hp at the wheels. I hope it's peak to peak, not best gain. I didn't ask that question.

I'll be reinstalling my AFE filter again, but with the pre-filter to keep the water out

Stomp- I guess you'll be working on your fuel pressure? Are you going to the drags? I hope to see you there.

On a side note, I had no idea how much fun owning a Cummins-powered truck would be. Seems like Dodge Cummins owners are much more enthusiastic about their trucks/hobby/addiction than anyone else.

I now know I made the right decision!!! (I kind of wish I was original enough to have a trick first-gen though--maybe that will be my 2nd truck)

JCleary

Yeah I am going to have to work on the supply side of the injection pump too. Man I almost forgot about that. I don't want it vapor locking again that was kind of embarrassing. I also have some more good news.

I am having a new pump built with some custom parts. It should flow an additional 20% more fuel. Now I can really get my bottom turbo to light. :D :D Ken's will be the first time I get to dyno the new pump. Should be REAL INTERESTING if you know what I mean.  I hope to turn a few heads over there too.

Stomp.

Glad to hear you have found a way to get more fuel. 20% is alot. I finally saved up enough money to order another pump for my truck. Sounds like it will take a bit. Guy said he was starting to get alot of orders from the sled pullers. I wish I could of ordered it sooner. Got a new top turbo also. Probably won't be ready in time for Imlars. I'll come down and watch.

Sounds like you'll be turning day into night :-laf

April 16th! Not good. I'll be completely broke and depressed due to the IRS vacuum in my wallet. Just might show up as a spectator though...

Cliffman, $9,000 Cliffy? If it is you, it would be great to see ya over here in this neck of the woods!

Still trying to work out any kind of a room break for the long distance travelers, will know in the next couple days for sure!
