Was told by dealer today that if my truck's ('04) lift pump should go out, they have to install the new in-tank kit... say's they can't get original lift pumps anymore. Kinda wondering... . is this good news or bad??

This is good news, the pump will run cooler immersed in fuel than hanging on the block. Mine was done 11/2 months ago, only down side is the dealer has tried 3 times to get the fuel guage to work & hasn't managed it yet. When I show 1/4 tank I can put in over 130 litres (34 gal). Not a good thing. Will likely take it back in & let the incompetent cretins try again but not in any rush as I carry 40 gal in aux tank

How about higher horsepower applications? Will this set up still require a supplemental pump to maintain fuel pressure to the rail?

I am not sure about this alternative... I have it on my 04 and I see 7 psi at idle, and it drops to 3 empty and 0 at WOT passing while towing in 5th or 6th.

Add some power and it will stumble while towing.

It shows 0 even with an ez on 2 towing.

I have the in tank pump and have never seen below 4-5 psi at WOT with the TST twins program and 8-8. Of course I am not totally sure if my gauge is accurate at this time. Lately I have been getting a lot of fluctuation in pressure readings from it. Sometimes 5 psi at idle other times as high as 9 at idle. :(

That is what I was told ,and went with the fass system. coobie

Hmmmmm... ... looks like we have conflicting reports. Anyone else with the in-tank lift pump along with fueling mods???

I had a Autometer fuel pressure gauge (15 psi) installed the same time I bought my FASS system,I hold constant 12-13 PSI WOT with my quad box race box set on 100-140 position. When I had my pressure checked before the fass install, just hitting the key with the dealer psi gauge installed 10 psi at the banjo bolt, without the quad box. No conflicting reports here, just stateing what I have observed with my own truck. P. S. my dealer told me the in tank lift pumps would not handle the HP boxes, that is why I switched to the Fass system. coobie :D
