My last turbo purchase did not turn out as well as I wish it would have so I am back looking for another single turbo solution. Looking for any info I can on this turbo. I emailed them and got very little. I was told that this turbo would support 700HP plus, spools great, does not surge when towing, and is better than any other single on the market. They told me that they had a few running at MM this year. One on a 04. 5 6 speed that made 529 with just a TST, cold air intake and 4" exhaust. The other was a 04. 5 auto with injectors, cold air intake, 4" exhaust and a TST that ran 582! Anyone running one? I would love to get some feedback before I jump into another turbo that increases my egt's and only lasts 15 minutes...

Ones thing for sure, their site leaves a little to be desired. No specs at all on any of the turbo's. . just "buy here"

So does this mean you are not going to give the Jammer BB another try? Any news on why it failed?

As far as big singles go with livable spool and what I have run across lately turned up JR's Lil 55 and the ATS Aurora 5000, Phat 66 must be another new one.

No news why it failed, no news on when they will be back on the market... . If it comes back before I find something else... I may give it another try.

$1950. 00 with downpipe and mounting hardware. Was told because I have an HX-40 already I will not need the downpipe so I can save $200.

The "66" must indicate the inducer size, which would make it the same as the Sledpuller 66. Does it look like a sledpuller?…. (I have never seen one in person). Just for comparison, the B1-2-04 has a 62mm inducer.

I asked the question "Is this turbo like the HTTurbo.com sled puller 66? Looks about the same!"

They wrote back "I am familiar with the sled puller and it does not even come close!"

Thats all they said? Did they not give you any comparison in performance to the 66 or any other turbo?

I asked "How is lag? What does it compare to? Is there any performance difference between the turbo you make (with the compressor turnout) for the 03-05 and the standard 94-02?"

They answered "Lag is not a problem with this turbo! Turbo response is awesome. This turbo is sized perfectly for the dodge diesel for the hp ranges we have talked about. The “turnout” portion of the comp hsg does not make any performance difference just ease of install less parts and lower cost, there are other performance mods done to the compressor however that do increase performance. This turbo is the best single charger for high hp dodge diesel applications that I have seen the only turbo that compares is the aurora 5000 and as far as drop in replacement, performance and value our Phat Shaft 66 turbo is the best. I think you mean compressor wheel size.

AK, I will be in Anchorage for business on the 18th, 19th, and 20th. How is the weather? What should I pack?

Yep.

Pack shorts! It has been unseasonably warm. High 60s, low 70s. Best Spring weather I have seen yet. Hopefully it keeps it up.

I called and this is what I got. .

They have a Phat shaft 62, 66 and a Super 66.

The 62 is good to 450hp and the others even more.

The shaft is bigger than an HX40 and spools better than a 40

The Super 66 was the one at MM and put down more power than the BD Twins but obviously the Twins cool better.

They are waste gated to 40 psi and 50 psi is no problem on durability.

On my 3rd gen they recommended the 62 for towing and the others for Hot Rods.

Fun stuff

Hmm... any more?

Like is this based on a S300 like the SP66 ??

How much can you change a turbo around? Other than making a hybrid...

Here are just a few thoughts about turbo's. The Phat Shaft turbo is some thing that has'nt been done to date. It is a great turbo with hp ranges upto 700 hp. there are of course a few technical facts that are not let out because of others that may try to copy it. The 582 hp at may madness is a real thing and no extensive tuning was done to reach that number. Ball bearing turbo's are a good technology they have been around for a long time now. It is better used in smaller end turbo's. Load factors may limlit size.

Hey Brett,

Thanks for posting. .

Wont that happen anyway as soon as competition gets a look at one?

Can you give the CFM rating for the 62, 66 and S66?

Just make it easy on yourself. Post a compressor map! Then we can make the decision for ourselves!!
