hi ya'll I got some info from dpuckett recently about accessing the throttle shaft seal without having to pull the whole pump. next question is [after reading the stickies about installing the 3200 spring] how does the starwheel come out of the afc housing or does it come off when removing the top of the pump to get to the throttle shaft? Also do you use a ball end type hex tool to remove the 4 top pump housing bolts or does the afc housing seperate from the top housing? One other thing is that I found that if you run 2 nuts together on the gov. stop bolt and also on the idle stop bolt you can remove these hard to get at bolts with a socket instead of busting your knuckes with a screwdriver!!!!!!!!!!!!

PICTURES ARE GOOD,I LIKE LOTS OF PICTURES/ thanks bgilbert now im not so reluctant to jump in there and fix that pesky lil leakin seal on the throttle shaft. il let you guys know how things work out this weekend.

just did test drive after replacing 0-ring on pump throttle shaft. must have turned the full fuel screw in a turn or so in from old setting[went ahead and removed what was left of the lock collar when i had the screw out] went from 17 pounds to 24pounds boost:-laf :-laf . thanks to dpuckett and bgilbert for the support and the link to the pics. also found it much easier to remove the gov spring by pushing the throttle shaft through the upper pump housing and removing the upper pump housing out of the way, then on reassemby just push the throttle shaft back thru the housing!

Cheater! :-laf I'll have to remember that trick! ;)

thanks, glad u like the trick. be sure to lube the o-ring with a drop of fuel or mm oil so it will slide back into the bushing without damage.
