Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injector pump problems

01 Injector went south . need new pump

I have a chance to get a 99 vp44 free

the 99 is a 5 speed will the pump work on the 01 , truck is a auto.

I "think" since the 01 is an auto the VP on it is an SO? Pretty sure only the std trans trucks (00 and up) were HO. With this in mind and that 99 trucks were all SO (at least I'm pretty sure of this) the pump should work?

Question is why is the 99 (SO) pump free?

99 and 01 auto both have the SO VP44 pump
