My 1999 was built in 11/98. I've read some posts on the fact that the fuel cross-over tubes going to the injectors were only good for one torque on the 98. 5's. But when exactly did they put the better tubes in our engines. Since mine was made in 98, I just wonder if the bad tubes somehow found their way in my engine. Just trying to investigate all that I can. Anyone have any idea, or was it based upon serial numbers... Thanks.

Here's the info on the connector tubes from the TSB's:

14-01-98 A - High pressure fuel line service.

This bulletin supersedes technical service bulletin 14-01-98 dated March 6, 1998. This information applies to the 5. 9L Cummins electronically injected 24 valve diesel built prior to engine serial number (ESN) 56462592. Design revisions have been made to the injector connector tube, and the new design can be re-torqued multiple times without compromising the seal between the connector tube and high pressure fuel line. The new part number for this connector tube is 05013856AA/Cummins 3944833.
