I have a 99 auto, all stock except for the FASS and EDGE Juice w/ Attitude. Mileage is my biggest concern, but I of course like having power available. I'm also very big on getting the most for my money.

I think my vp44 is going out, so I'm looking at replacing that. At the same time, I'm thinking about injectors. I know the potential is there to destroy the transmission, but I take it pretty easy, and I'm prepared to deal with that when the need arises (full DTT and TC by local shop).

So is it worth it to go with a HRvp44? It looks like that's a 600 dollar premium for 50 hp ($1045 v $1645).

I'm thinking about the RV 275 injector or the mach 1. 6's or 4's.

Does it make a difference if I go with the HRvp44? I think I'm leaning toward the standard VP44 because of the price.

well if you can hold out I'd get the new stage 1 vs the HRVP--same price and more HP and you can tap the pump wire is the word--but again at the HP you're talking about save the money and by a stock pump and use the rest for some decent injectors--but hey if you want more HP then go for the stage 1 and injectors----chris

I would recommend the Mach 1. 6's, very clean and linear power and I have noticed at least 1 gallon per mile improvement.

"I have noticed at least 1 gallon per mile improvement. " LOL wow thats good
Hey now, I get 19-20 in my auto and to go to 20-21, I'd be very happy.

No words from anyone on the RV 275 injectors? You guys think the Mach injectors are that much better even for the money?

Did you tap your existing pump? Stock auto can usually take one upgrade, but not two or three. I would put the new standard pump on it and then do the transmission. It is amazing what a good transmission does to these trucks. Equals a couple good bombs. Talk to RIP about a pump that you can tap and still have warranty on it. SNOKING

tellthem I sent you ---these pumps aren't easy to get though and that could play a part in anyone's decision to get one--- and as snoking says a transmission upgrade or clutch upgrade will be needed at some point---chris

Don't deal with the transmission when it breaks. Put a TC and valvebody in it now it will last a lot longer and not break the bank. $1500 for these will make you smile and you will be that much closer when the day does come. Versus 3500-5000+.

that's certainly one option, but talk to your transmission specialist and see what they say--I originally went that way as it was really the only option when I did my original transmission work back in 2000, but now DTT doesn't sell what they sold to me, because everyone say's I'm just going to 350hp and then wham they're sitting at 550hp or more---so buy wisely(think far, far ahead) and build accordingly----chris

It's tapped, but I never use it. I keep it on 1 daily, and 2 when towing.
