guys,

I along with alot of you are in search of the power wagon injectors that Don D speaks so fondly of. The group purchase mentioned in the other forum is for the 215 hp injectors (basically the stock injector for the inline pump trucks). This is hearsay, but I've heard the 215's make the old trucks (pre 94) smoke bad. As mentioned in the other posts the power wagon injectors are from some off highway 180 hp application.
i think it is time we hash this thing out and decide if we want the power wagons or the 215's. I am dead set on the power wagons unless someone has proof positive that the 215's are better!!! I am currently entertaining the thought of the 215's because of pricing, but the PW's sound like they really work. I have spoken with the guys at the shop where they sell the PW injectors and they have them in stock. I do not want to step on any toes, but if everyone else is getting group discounts, I will be glad to check and see what they will do for us on the PW's. Let's talk about this some more. There is no need to rush into making a possible bad decision. I love to make bombing runs as much as the next guy but, they make these parts every day so ther eis no rush. Please respond so everyone can see. Let's get all the questions answered before we buy.

thanks
Don

Power Wagon posted on a topic im which he said the 215 HP injectors do NOT increase power much but are LOW on smoke. The genuine POWER WAGON injectors are said to have 15% larger orfices than the 215's.
If it is the diameter that is 15% greater then the capacity is about 33% more.

These injectors are fanastic!

I gave the vendor doing the group purchase the bosch numbers posted elsewhere in the first gen forum, and he quoted me a price of $230+50 core, to the best of my recollection. But that wwas Friday, and I've worked two football games, and the entire Jerry Lewis Telethon since then, and am kinda fuzzy. He said it would be bout two weeks before he had them in stock.

I wish I knew more about the flow charactoristics of these BD injectors, but they work pretty good on this ol truck. Less smoke, another 4# boost and I haven't started to remove the collar on the adjustment screw yet. . Could these be the 215's???

Guys,

I spoke with the guys at Schedi diesel and they push the 215's. Say they don't smoke, but they did not really have any comments to make on the power wagon injectors. Let's be sure when we order we get exactly the number that Don D has. I do not want something close. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, but If i order the PW injectors and the numbers don't match what Don D says, the injectors will go back. Let's make sure the place where we are purchasing understands we want the exact #. I'll pull the numbers and put on this post.

thanks
Don Peters.

The injector #0432133875 is a Bosch #. This is the number for the PW injectors.

chooice here is:

1) Power Wagon injectors (Don D)

2) 215's, not heard any testimonials

3) BD, DD, or someone else

4) I do recall that Old School was pleased with the JRE setup. Just curious what they are.

keep the Q/A session going we'll figure this thing out. If anyone has any of these please tell us what they are and if you like them.

thanks
Don

The POWER WAGON injectors are from a 180 HP industrial application so they may be the same as BD's.

You do not need to exchange anything for the PW injectors since they are brand new stock Bosch. When I bought mine they cost about $65 each and they were BRAND NEW.

If you need another one or a set of them someday they can be ordered anywhere in any quantity.

They are most likely available rebuilt but my experience (and POWER WAGON's with Cummins RECON injectors) with "rebuilt" stuff is very bad so I would definitely encourage anyone buying injectors to get the new ones. But if you decide on rebuilt and need a set of perfectly fine stock 160 HP injectors for a core let me know.

I have the same injectors that Don D has and I am happy with the performance. My pump was turned up before and now it is basically at factory spec's and performs better then it did with the pump opened up. It will smoke pretty good if I get on it hard at a standing still start, but it moves right along when I do. I have more boost then I did before. I kept my old injectors, they were stock and fairly new, living in California, I figured that I may need them someday to meet a smog check.

I got a customer to do a DIRECT, before/after comparison of a truck with stock, 215HP, and the BIG injectors. There was no noticeable change in power between the stock and 215's. Some of the early 160HP engines had 4 hole injectors, if memory serves (the 9MM tip versions, 89-90 models, some 91's) and the 215's would make a great replacement for those - if you don't want to bomb. They don't smoke - at least not the ones I've tried. The big injectors made a serious jump in power, and you need to have your aneriod setting at stock or a bit low to avoid puffing smoke when you drive.

The injectors DonD and Mark93 have give you serious horsepower increase doing nothing else. You will make more smoke, however. And, if you've turned up your pump, you're going have some serious heat - and better have a pyro. They work best and smoke very little if you have a pump that's set to the low end of the specs, especially the aneroid.

Since they put in more fuel, you need more air, and should have a free intake, exhaust, and a 12, 14, or 16CM exhaust housing - with the 14 being the best, and the 16 being much cheaper than the other two - if you have to buy new. The 12 is the most responsive, and when coupled with the responsive VE pump, the trucks literally jump when you hammer the pedal.

One last note. Everybody is doing the same thing - putting in nozzles that flow more fuel. It's difficult to get exact comparisons, because there's really been no chance to do comparison tests.

I have no particular advice on how to accomplish a good comparison, either.

Sold,

That's it, I'm buyin' the PW injectors. Let's get the number for the shop who has them for 43. 95. That's... . uh... let's see... $263. 70 for a set. Let's get the number and try to call. If someone will get me a number I am ready now. I've been told the 215's have different threads and will not attach to ur injector lines. Is this true??? I know the inline pumps have different size fittings. I spoke to one shop today on doing a group purchase and 280 per set was his best price. If I should not post this, let me know and I'll remove. I don't want to offend anyone, but not sure how to let yall know. I did not put the name of the shop so... .

later
Don

Guys i am not offended in anyway shape or form. If some other injector works better for you guys, get them i would!Just all the e mails i got for injectors asked me to do more or less three things
1. Price
2. include 12v in the deal
3. price to be lowered by them taking the old ones off our hands!!
Like i have stated before i know nothing on the 12v,but will tell you the ones at BULLY DOG are new not recons!!

Okay Guys,

Just wait till later today and I will have the best prices on these injectors, even better than the above price. Finally got hold of someone serious about selling injectors. I think atleast 10 people are looking for these so help us out and buy. I am making sure the part # is the same as Don D mentioned and I assume everyone needs new sealing washers for the injector and bleed off lines.

stay tuned
Don

Add my name to the list!! I was going to wait until this Spring but a deal is a deal. What about these injectors with the older style head (9mm vs 7mm holes)?

Guys,

I have the prices and details. The only problem is the shop owner did not want to post a phone number or price. He gave me all the info and said to get everyone interested to email me (Big Don) for the details. When you email me I can give pricing and the shop's number and a contact. These are new Power Wagon Injectors (Bosch part # 0432133875) and they come with new sealing washers and bleed off line washers. I really don't think we can beat this deal. He is currently out of stock, but is expecting some mid next week. If you all will email me so I can give you the info, then you can call him and get your name on the list.

this is great
I can't wait
