To put the 7mm tips in a 9mm head is no problem, most of the injectors come with sealing washers and a part that loooks like a sealing washer with a bushing to go over the injector to take up space from 7mm to 9mm.

Guys,

All of you who sent me an email should have gotten a reply from me. If you did not get a reply please email me again. I am sorry, but so far today I have received email from 21 of you crazy first gen guys. I love it. Just be sure when I send you a reply to call and get your name on the list for the injectors. He told me has has some coming in next week. I didn't want to be rude, but I told him I wanted one of the first sets. If they run anything like you guys say, this thing will fly, no wings necessary. Thought I'd let you guys know I'm workin on a little something special for the first gen trucks. I love them because mechanical parts make them go fast instead of using resistors and that other Electrical crap. No offense meant, but I am a Mechanical Engineer and I do tractor repair. Check out my website, (no pictures of shop) www.donstractorrepair. homestead.com

Don,
I just want to say thank you for all the effort you have put into this over the last day or two. I have read about replacing the injectors but thoght the cost was much higher than what you sent me today via E-mail.
Am planning to call in an order tomorrow.

Thanks for the effort you have put into this over the past few days. Thanks for the info via E-mail today. I thought the cost was much higher than that! I plan on placing an order tomorrow.

The sleeves to put the 7MM tips in a 9MM head do not come with the injectors normally. You have to get them separately. They're not terribly expensive, but not real cheap, either - something like a couple dollars each??? Just FYI.

I'd like to say one other thing. Since I don't work for a pump shop anymore, I can open up and blab a bit... I'd like to point out that someone invested some time and money to discover what works and what doesn't. I'd encourage you to support those people who do that kind of research - because it's the sales they make that pays for continued efforts in that direction.

This isn't about injectors, per se, but about all the things that work and the parts that do more than others. Someone had to risk money to find them and try them out once or twice.

For instance, I spent hours of my own time to do research on timing, pump numbers, etc... And since many of the products you enjoy come from that very kind of unpaid time and effort, your support of those who did it is needed - but I've been well compensated for my time later on.

I'd also like to point out that a phone call back to the folks who do stuff for you or sell you things, telling them just how it worked or didn't, is invaluable. So few people give feedback, that accurate assessment is often delayed. Please, let them know how things worked for you.

There, I've spouted enough. And, to those who I've dealt with personall, thanks for your words, your reports, and your time and efforts... Couldn't have done things without you.

I didn't purchase injectors from you but I still have got alot of info that got me out of a few binds. The trans-boarder shipping and the ridiculous exchange rate makes it sort of hard to do what I want. Its hard to find first gen info as most have moved on to newer trucks.

For what its worth over the CyberBoard,
Thanks

Jason

eh, don't worry, it's not about me. My only point here, is that when people go out and arrange group purchases,e tc, that they start with the latest issue of TDR in hand, and call the sponsors first. The cost of advertising in TDR - if a word were to be applied to it,it would not be "cheap".

I've been on both sides of this - having used to work for one of the current advertisers - and it was discouraging to see places that made no efforts and did no research make the profits from it. As I said, I no longer have any stake in this, and as such, it's not personal - but, since nobody's mentioned it, I thought I'd weigh in with my mouth wide open (as usual #ad
).

I agree with Power Wagon completely. But I believe that everyone should shop where they get the best deal. The best deal is not always the best price. I talked to several shops and the shop I have given you seems like good people to deal. I do not think that we as consumers have to support the cost of advertising for places of business. I run a business and I feel that I provide service and parts at a reasonable price. Mostly my parts/service are cheaper than most anyone around and the work has a 1 year warranty that no one else offers. I do not spend big bucks on advertising. I count on word of mouth and customer recommendations to send me more business. I do not expect them to pay for advertising by paying more for parts at my place than they do elsewhere.
On the other hand after a customer brings me a piece of equipment that has been to another shop and they botched it up. I do ask that the next time they bring it to me first to save money and only have it "fixed" once.

Sometime as a shop owner (such as the place where we are buying injectors) you have to make a sale for very little profit to get people acquainted with you. This shows that you are not after their dollar, but rather you are trying to help them with their problems. Customers remeber this and the next time they want something they will come to you instead of searching for the cheapest price in town, because they trust that you have their best interest in mind.
I am a repeat shopper. The guys giving us this deal will definitely get a call the next time I need parts. If they give good service and are kind, I do not mind paying a little more for their parts/service because I feel they are helping me. I like to deal with the same person at a shop each time I call. This lets you get to know them on a more personal basis and it is easier to deal witrh them. You do not have to play phone tag with every monkey that works for that place of business.

sorry to ramble, just some of my business philosophy. I am agreeing with Power Wagon in the sense that we should suport those who are good to us. You as the customer do not owe anyone(shop owners) a living. Occasionally it is good to check other shops just to be reassured of the treatment you are receiving. I recommend that all my customers "shop around" and they always come back and say that we are the best in the area for sales/service/ and customer satisfaction after the sale.

A good thing to remeber as a shop owner is that you do not have to lie or cheat to get people's money. If you treat them with kindness and respect they will be glad to give you their money over and over again.

As a customer my attitude is that if I am in a pinch and you take advantage of my i. e overcharge becase I need the parts now or because it is a hop up part. I may by it today because I need/want it badly, but I will not come back on a routine basis and I'll probably tell people how I feel.

Farm machinery and parts sales and repair. I know it is not the high tech diesel hopup market, but... . code of ethics still apply.

treat others as you want to be treated

With all the interest in these high performance injectors, shouldn't those of us who do not have the smaller exhaust turbo's consider going to 12, 14 or 16 cm2 housing and also aren't a set of guages (pyro & boost) a must? What about a group purchase on these items?

Hi POWER WAGON.

Your injectors are still fantastic!

I am in total agreement that a workman deserves his wages.

I'm glad you and the shop did the research and you/they deserve the reward for doing the work.

I would buy them from your former shop again.

I had my pump gone through and the larger injectors installed at the location that Power Wagon worked. I was treated very well, they were very friendly and they did good work. I would recommend them to anyone.
I never accomplished what I was hoping to do and get my mileage back up closer to where it use to be when it was newer, but that wasn't their fault. I like having my pump back at factory spec's, then having it turned up.

Rodney

Guys,

Maybe you mis understood my post earlier. I was not slamming anyone, especially the shop power wagon used to work for, I'm sure they are good people. It sounds like you are agrreing with what I said about repeat business and recommending those who treat you well. Sounds like you've found your source for diesel performance and service.

A big thank you to Powerwagon for all his technical advice on the PW injectors and to Big Don for getting a good price on the PW injectors.

Stabco count me in on the group purchase of the 16cm2 housing.

Good effort by stabco. I've e-mailed him about the pricing on his posting which I had to regrettably pull.
Here's hoping he'll repost with the E-MAIL CONTACT on quantity and pricing.
For referance see the Forum Guideline post.
Regards.
