Ive got a 1993 W250, Auto. What turbo came stock? 14mm, 16mm? If I put in the power wagon injectors, do I need to do anything else to get more juice out of her or are the injectors fine by themselves?

Thanks,

Billy

RamBill,
Sorry to hear about your 2001 problems. The stock turbo on a 93 is 21 cm2. As for the injectors, mine are still on order, it depends on how much smoke you like on the adjustments needed.

RamBill, You will need at least the 16cm2 housing to get the full benefit from your engine with the PW injectors. The injectors them selves will make a big difference, but you will want more air via the quicker spool of the 16cm2 housing or even the 12cm2 with a modified down pipe. Low resriction air filter. Also lose the muffler for straight pipe or low restriction muff. As Al states your truck came stock with 18cm2 housing. IF you plan on getting real radical with the fuel in the future you might want to hang on to the 18cm2 for more flow and less EGTs. That would be the last resort for final performance tuning! Read: Fully BOMBED!

You have gauges right?

Has anyone with the PW injectors done a fuel milage check yet? I'd like the power but my 23 mpg is realy nice with the price of fuel going up.

Allright... I would suggest that if you're going to go all out for max horsepower, that you use the 16cm2 housing. Otherwise, I suggest you use the 12 or 14 wastegated housings. The 12 if you're not going for any more rpm's or turning up the pump at all. If you want to go faster (more rpm), of if you intend to crank the fuel screw after the injectors - either one moderately - then I'd suggest the 14. In truth, the 14 will work very well for most people, with the 12 giving you the most 'snap' at the bottom end. Since you have an auto, you're probably not going to want to go for anything more than breathing improvements (exhaust, intake), injector change, and timing change. You might even crank the fuel down a little.

If you get some improvements to your transmission - torque convertor and valve body or shift kit - then you might be able to go for a little more gusto.

Our best guesses indicate these injectors are worth somewhere in the 30 to 60 horsepower range. And, since you run precisely the same rpm's, that means it's a pure torque increase. That's a serious torque increase as far as the transmission is concerned. Get some good cooling to it, as well.

Guys,

I know they have been swamped on orders. Please be patient and report as you get yours. I got mine the other day. I kinda cheated I guess. He had three sets in stock when I ordered. I just washed Ol' Blue and am leaving tomorrow after work to head for Terrehaute for the weekend. I'll be stayin' at the POST motel. Ol' Blue is excited about the trip. Gonna check the mileage on the new injectors. So far mileage is the same and smoke is not as bad as what it was.
