This is what I was getting at too but I didn't think running empty it would be too bad. Maybe it would be. Let's clear something up.

When do you see 1300? Daily driving and it creeps up to 1300 while driving non-agressively around town? or when you flat foot it or are driving hard and it gets over 1300? If you flat foot it does it climb to over 1300 and then fall off once the turbo gets going?
If you go to a smaller turbo, say another 62, I would keep the #8 to start with and maybe move it back if you need to but I would not be too concerned with going to a smaller plate at this point.
