what are the prices like on injectors... i spoke with someone, i cant remember the manufacterer, but he said he had the 80 hp injectors for 500... is this normal or high?

Oh yeah. You will need a boost fooler. Its the stage 2s that are close to 80 hp. If you want to do it right an edge EZ is a boost fooler and changes you timing for even more power. The two together are a very good investment for a very potent power increase. It should also keep your egts at an acceptable level.

A boost fooler is a simple voltage clipping circuit. It keeps the ECM from seeing a High Out of Spec signal comming from the MAP sensor due to higher than normal boost pressure that is generated from indirectly adjusting the wastgate setpoint with a boost elbow. Higher boost pressure is needed to help keep EGT under control when using larger than stock injectors or fueling modules. A Boost Module (fooler) also keeps the ECM from De Fueling, (but not all the way since it is "masking" another sensor disagreement)) when using the affore mentioned fueling enhancements.

"Top of the Line" injectors, like DD, yes, you're in the right price range. Don't forget, you can get Bosch 275's for less than 3 clams. Those seeking only max power seem to prefer the DD's; those seeking "some" power and a little improvement in mpg seem happier with 275's. The Bosch 275's are equal to your original injectors in overall quality; made by the same folks, and made specifically for the 275 hp Cummins as used in RV's.
