Need advice (20 questions)

Suspension lubrication

I will be purchasing a 2000 model cab and chassis rig with a flat bed to do some hauling with a gooseneck and pulling a fifth wheel trailer. I need some help in deciding whether to go with the 60" CCA frame or the 84" CCA frame. All of the hauling will be on the highway and I will be pulling a trailer maybe 25% to 50% of the time.

Which frame length would work out the best??

Thanks in advance for your input and help with my decision.

I have always liked the long bed(frame). I have heard that the further apart the wheels are the better the ride. My dad has always said that the long wheel base truck is his choice of trucks. .

The long wheelbase does help the ride, both unloaded or loaded. Plus you get more storage under the bed in front of the wheels, and more room to put cargo ahead of the gooseneck on the flatbed. I'm very happy with my 163" chassis cab.

The only tricky bit I've run into is that no one sells a 4" exhaust for them. I had Jerry Jardine add 2' to mine in front of the rear axle, but it was still tight. . In retrospect I would of gotten another 4" longer or so, but I made it work.

Thanks David for the information. Looks like the long WB will be the way to go. I appreciate the all the replies.
