I need to set a crane up for sure. My long term plan is to design a well behind the gooseneck hitch to store the spare, but it involves changing support structure of the bed. There are higher end beds that have that tire storage built in.

Thanks for thinking of that.... might have to work the pulley out tomorrow.

Cheers, Ron

Ron, I have heard to rotate the front tires right to left, keep filled to 80psi but I don't ever remember rotate the rears, am I missing something hear, hmm.

Yes sir, I'm rotating the spare into the mix so when time to buy tires, I don't have a new 5year old tire. The negative side to having aluminum wheels is not doing full rotation of tires. In fact bought factory Laramie Longhorn wheel for my wifes truck so next time at the dealer I'll have spare mounted to it and full rotation of her tires.

With the Alcoa wheels I simply rotate fronts side to side leaving wheels in same position and tires rotating the same. This puts the inside edge on the outside both front tires. I never touch the rears.

30k on these with 1/4" tread left. Personally don't worry about the spare too much. Next new set of tires I may put one of these on the spare location. Fronts look the same.

So when time comes to replace the tires I buy nine tires as the spare is just black rim, and the fact that I try to keep rear of truck out of salt water at launch ramps sometimes does happen, I wash off soon as possible can. I do rotate the fronts, I never touch the rears.

There's a friend who does nothing except keep all tires on everything he owns 5Lbs less than max recommended tire pressure on the sidewalls. No rotation of anything, and he's happy. Just goes to show ya the range of nothing to everything.

Friends,

Finally determined final location for the in cab air gauge, gauge light dimmer switch, and air horn cutoff switch. Be done tomorrow.

Pics
Measure 5 times, cut once. Got some tape to protect cutting rocker switch with Dremel and hot knife.

Here's some nice access to reroute the airline and circuit wiring. I left it long enough to reach the console. I knew where I wanted it to live, just not how or exactly where.

Ram musta known some modifiers would want access without pulling the console.

I'll post finished project tomorrow.

Ron, What is the switch below the trailer brakes switch for? Is this the same gauge that was on the left side were I would bang my knee on? This is better spot, thanks for update on this project.

Homer.
Yep, moved it. When not thinking about it, I hit my knee on it a couple times, enough to work harder at finding a better place for it. I found the access opening on the side of the console while leaning on the driver's side door and popped it out... very happy to find a void in that area The switch below the trailer brakes is the gauge light dimmer waiting for it's new home. In all actuality, I might could have made tapping gauge LED into the dash low voltage dash lights, but decided against it since they operate through the buss and the BCM, if I recall correctly. I have small hands and fingers, so I actually can reach my hand into the side of the console (bearly :D).

Anyhoo, I'll be happy to be done with this project.

Cheers, Ron

Nice having air available when you need it. I remember pulling into a local gas station years ago and wanted to check the air in the tires. I pumped more air back into their system as the pressure in the tire was way higher than their chincey air system could put out. That's when I decided I needed on board air, been happy since.
