Installed the Super 5th hitch with super rails today..Myself

Just got my 5th wheel hitch installed today by Pull-rite. Easy to install, has holes in the frame already but had to cut a bit of shee-metal to make it fit.

This is where I had to cut a bit of metal. there is a open box that serves no purpose and it has to be removed to fit the bracket.

Heres a shot of the pins on the super rails. there is a hol in the bed for the pins to click into the bracket but nothing is bolted to the bed. When you take the hitch out, all it leaves is a hole in the bed for a clean look.

This is what I am using in place of a slider hitch. It makes about 10" extension for the pinbox so that should be enough for maneuvering... . Saved me about $1000 not getting the automatic slider hitch.

I have the 15,500 . there is a 20,500 . and I think a 25K.

I have the same hitch and used three pin locks to secure all of the hitch components.

I was able to find two of the pin locks keyed alike at CW. One secures the rails to the truck and the other one secures the hitch to the rails. I didn't bother with one for the hitch plate. Someone would have to be pretty desperate to take it.

I fully agree, however, if someone did decide to take it, it sure would ruin your day. For $15. 00 it is cheap insurance.

IF you dont mind me asking,where did you get the extended pin hook up & what did it cost. I also pull w\a short bed & i knocked off my cb antenna from my rear window. Thanks for the info

Keep in mind that even with an extended pin box, you can still hit the cab in a 90° jacknife turn (unless the extended pin box is about 3' long).

I don't intend to do alot of tight turning. Most of my excursions go out to the desert and some campgrounds.



Got the pin extender from www.popuphitch.com It was $396. 00 The front cap on the raptor has it curved front so I think I will be ok with 10" extension. The weight of the trailer, I had the old hensley in the rear of the truck so the drives weight was off but I think the trailer dry is around 11,300 or so. I will do all the stuff I have to do then weigh it with the quads in and see whats what.

From prices I've seen the super 5th is about $900 cheaper than the superslide. Don't forget the installation kit price. $400 of the savings went for the extended pin box, so your net difference is around $500.

Not faulting your choices, but readers need to consider all the parts of the equation. With my rig including the extended pin box it would be +/- 1/2" of hitting the rear window on just a hard left or right turn going forward.



I agree absolutely that Pullrite SuperRail mounting system is tops!

i bought my hitch at a discount RV Store... online and the shipping on the hitch was free. Can't beat that... .



The hitch was $375 the superrails was $360. The pop-up hitch was $396 total $1131. Installed all of it myself. The automatic slide would have been $2100 with shipping. So I saved alot.

Best be able to lock your release lever too! Ya never know who'll mess with ya in a parking lot... pull in with trailer, pull out. . OOOPS!
