I want to change the nozzles and have searched and searched and cant kind any real info on changing them. anyone who has done it, how hard is it? how many parts come out? and and is it easy to mess up?
It's not hard. The only thing to keep in mind is "clean". I washed mine in a parts washer and scrubbed with a brass brush then put them in a pan of clean diesel.
You will need a vise.
Carefully secure the body and remove the old nozzle with the nozzle up.
After removing the nozzle, notice the alignment of spacers to dowel pin and carefully blow the parts with compressed air. Keep you finger on the spacers while doing this.
The new nozzles should have an instruction included, if not, the tightening procedure is: finger tight, then tighten 30 deg.
Member kermatdi has the specs listed on his web site. (He sells Bosio nozzels)
pop testing is not an issue. I work for Cummins and have to walk about 30 feet to get to the pop tester. I would much rather save the money. AKAMAC than you.
I just never had one apart. kind of looking for what to expect. Im in the perfet position to save the money and just do the nozzles. actually if my door is open I can see the pop tester from my desk, lol
We always reccomend POP testing but I bet less than 20% of customers do it. Doesn't seem to be an issue as the nozzles are pretty high quality and for the ones we have POP tested they are so far 100% OK!
