I saw an add from ATI about a thermal insulation kit for our trucks.
They advocate insulating the exhaust housing on the Turbo and the Exhaust Manifold. Seems to me that a lot of heat is vented off those components to the air passing through the engine compartment. On a long steep hot and heavy haul, that turbo might get to hot if all the heat was being sent down the pipe as opposed to being able to radiate some of it.
What would this do for the warranty of these parts?
Seems if there was so much to be gained by insulating, Cummins or Dodge would turn 'em out from the factory that way.
Anybody have any experience with these kits?
Thanks,
Brett.
